This is one of the better Western museums we have visited on our many travels. Worth stopping for a visit even if the main museum building is closed. Read moreThis museum is open seasonally; we made it a pit stop without realizing but it was still a great place to stretch our legs with cool monuments and picnics tables outside. While we were exploring, we were approached by a museum volunteer who lives nearby. He happened to see us, and even though the museum was closed for the season he opened up the train car so my kids could see the inside and share bit of local history with us.
