The View at Pepperrell Cove — Attraction in Kittery

Choosing The View at Pepperrell Cove to host our wedding reception was by far the best decision I made in the whole wedding process. I booked the place site unseen without even telling my fiancé after a conversation with the co-owner Donna. I just KNEW we had to have it there. First, I must commend Donna on her hospitality. She has truly found her calling in life. She makes you feel like you are the only person getting married at her place. Not once did I feel like a customer, I felt like I was speaking with a lifelong friend. Donna met every question and fear I had with utmost respect and an encouraging word. Since we live out of state, all our conversations and planning had to be done by phone. The whole team at the View were prompt to respond to all my questions. Donna offered advice on all the little things (décor, timelines etc) and provided great vendor suggestions. When their top DJ vendor wasn’t available, she made it a point to join me in the hunt for one. To top off the spectacular customer service I received the ENTIRE time leading up to my wedding, Donna was able to turn the downstairs into a ceremony spot when we got rained out of our outdoor ceremony location. It was POURING out and Donna had me hide in the building next door while guests arrived. When it was my time to go down the stairs – she selflessly held out an umbrella over me, meanwhile getting soaked, as she walked me to the doors. Second, I must commend the venue for their SPECTACULAR food. One of the main reasons we picked The View at Pepperrell Cove is because of their focus on good food and wine. It was important to us to treat our guests to a special dining experience that reflected our personal love for food. If you think about it – you spend all this money on one dinner for everyone…why would you want to serve a boring piece of chicken or a dry steak? You want the guests to REMEMBER the meal – and The View certainly did that for us. The chef, Eides, met with us via phone to CREATE a menu. We were able to choose everything. There was no “list” of items to choose from – you basically just told them what you wanted, and they made it happen. I still dream about the raw bar, lobster rolls, steak au poivre and haddock that was served (amongst other things) at our wedding. The whole venue is just magical. When I came up the stairs to the dinner service area and saw all the flowers and candles lining the long tables – I cried. It was an absolute dream come true. Even with the torrential downpours the whole night was beautiful. There’s something so peaceful and surreal about watching the boats in the Pepperrell Cove through the large windows. We held our wedding reception here at The View in September 2019. To say everything went without a hitch and made a fairytale wedding come true, is an understatement. We are Kittery residents and inquired about holding our reception here before construction was complete because we knew we couldn’t pass up the chance to gather loved ones at a local spot like this. I took on the task of planning our wedding with the help of a good friend to keep things simple and to reduce costs; we plucked flowers from our gardens, did homemade décor, used a music streaming app, etc. Donna was so accommodating and understanding throughout the planning process. She treated us like family and helped turn our wedding vision into a reality.

From morning until night on the day of the event, Donna and her hard-working staff were there to assist us. A handful of friends and family helped with essential set up items in the morning and Pepperrell Cove staff did the rest before guests arrived. Staff were incredibly accommodating and courteous to us and our guests. Everyone raved about the unbelievable food, the friendly atmosphere, and the gorgeous View. The menu included local, seasonal flavors (fish cakes, haddock, and gnocchi were personal favorites) in a comfortable family-style setting. They have a nice stereo system set up that is compatible with Spotify, so we set up a few wedding playlists and played them over the system –another money saving idea and it was a piece of cake (thank you, Donna)! The panoramic coastal scenery from The View, as you can imagine, is breathtaking during any time of day, all year long. Windows open so you can have a sea breeze rolling through and/or you can choose to have the fireplaces on for ambiance and warmth. We saw nothing but smiles all night long and loved ones are still talking about it.

All in all, the day was absolutely perfect and we couldn’t have done it without everyone’s help. Truly a dream come true – many, many hugs and thank you’s to Donna, Chef Eides, and the rest of Pepperrell Cove staff for making our dream wedding possible! We love you guys!!!

We had the absolute joy of celebrating our wedding at The View at Pepperrell Cove, and it truly exceeded every one of our expectations. From the moment we stepped into the venue, we were swept away by the breathtaking ocean view. The space itself is beautifully intimate and welcoming, perfect for the close-knit celebration we dreamed of.

One of the true highlights of our experience was the staff. Every single person was thoughtful, kind, and attentive—not just to our guests, but to us as a couple. They were always a step ahead, checking in, keeping the day flowing, and ensuring we were relaxed and cared for throughout. It genuinely felt like they were celebrating with us.

We can’t say enough about Dionna, the event coordinator. She made the entire planning process so smooth and enjoyable. Communicating with her was effortless—she was always prompt, professional, and incredibly open to our ideas. We had a vision for the day that felt a bit outside the box, and she embraced it wholeheartedly, helping us bring it to life in a way that felt personal and magical.

And the food—wow. We are still talking about it. One of the most special parts of this venue is the chance to work directly with their incredible chef, Eides, to craft a custom menu. We were able to incorporate some of our favorite flavors and dishes into a beautiful, cohesive meal that reflected who we are as a couple. Eides took everything we loved and elevated it into a culinary experience that was both unique and deeply meaningful. Sharing that with our closest family and friends was unforgettable.

The location was also ideal—just minutes from Portsmouth, NH, which made it easy for out-of-town guests and gave us access to even more fun weekend activities.
