Vidae Falls — Attraction in Klamath Falls

During our visit in mid October, the waterfall didn’t have a large amount of water trickling down but it is still worth the short stop off the side of the road. I knew on this visit to Crater Lake I had to see the two waterfalls- Plaikni Falls and Vidae Falls. Do not confuse this one with Plaikni, as I noticed in one review. This waterfall is off the side of the road and has a small pull off to see it. Plaikni Falls is larger and requires hiking to get to. I didn’t have service when visiting here so I had to find the waterfall by zooming into google maps and I noticed while inside the Vidae Falls picnic area, Vidae Falls is across the road off the main road. There is a hiking trail at Vidae Falls Picnic Area but it is for Crater Peak, not Vidae Falls. You can get a better view of Vidae Falls if you walk a short distance to the right side of...

You go to Crater Lake to see the lake not these falls. Off in a wilderness all by themselves they would be a sight, but caught in the middle of this park, they are ho hum. If your walking, biking, skiing, or driving by, take the time to stop for a few minutes and consider where in the heck does that water come from? Then you will take in the marvel of what is happening and enjoy the moment. This is not worth the effort to go out of your way for, but if you are at this point on the rim, you are probably in for the full tour and you should take 10 minutes to enjoy. A Hidden Gem of Crater Lake – A Must-Visit Spot! I recently visited a beautiful waterfall of the Crater Lake, and it truly exceeded my expectations. Unlike other waterfalls I’ve seen, this one had a special charm, especially in July.
