i highly recommend checking this engineering marvel out, there are "no parking" signs posted everywhere under the structure due to the teenagers spraying graffiti, drinking, and leaving trash, but i am sure you can get away with short stops. if you are interested in walking across the bridge be aware that it is very steep to get up either side and the dirt is loose.

there is an alternative to walk across it, park at tunnel field by the tennis court and there is a hidden trail in the back. wear good hiking shoes/boots, there is large rock ballast along the railway. it is roughly a 3/4 mile hike each way along the old rail way to get to the old bridge and be aware there is concrete barriers at the bridge but people have knocked some of them over. some of the railings along the bridge are missing and this structure is well over 100 feet in the air, DO NOT bring children. the views are...

My family loves it here. My husband and son ride their bikes here. My daughter and husband run here. I walk on the trail either alone or with one of my kids. The trails are very nice and natural! It's located in a beautiful part of NJ! However, natural also means watching out for the horse droppings. The viaduct itself is also a beautiful construction that it's sadly not appreciated for all it is. Lots of graffiti, not all is artwork, and litter and broken bottles. There's an overpass not far from it that is also tagged and abused by bored teens. I get it, it's a place they can go hang out and experiment, but leave the paint at home and throw the bottles away, there are cans to use in Footbridge Park, not...

Very cool place with lots of random, strange graffiti. The old abandoned railroad bridge was built in 1908 and in 1979 the last train crossed it. It's now considered abandoned. It crosses the Paullinskill River, a great Trout Stream. Parking is sketchy (though plenty of space) and is clearly marked all over, "No Parking" and "Permit Only Parking" yet the area shows modest use with garbage cans nearly overflowing. The area is generally rural and probably not patrolled that often so I think a lot of people take the chance and park, check the place out and roll. Which is illegal and I am not suggesting anyone do this. Just an observation. Anyway, cool place and worth a visit if...

Un maravilloso lugar lleno de arte y muchas cosas sorprendentes del lado de abajo del puente al igual que el lado de arriba. Nota. Tienes que escalar un poco así que lleva zapatos adecuados. 👞

Definitely an imposing structure and I think I pick the most difficult side of the two to get up on. You can climb up the side or I found an access road up the road a bit. But I wouldn’t recommend trying it with a regular car. You could try walking up at I guess but the rocks are the kind they use on where road tracks which can twist an ankle. I have to admit it’s quite a view up there. I would not recommend small children going up there because you can definitely just step off the edge. Definitely a solid well-made structure. That would be hard dangerous and expensive to take down.
