First off let me tell you! This road my friends is NOT I repeat NOT a joke!!!! We went on a sunny, windy, day and I couldn’t even image if it was wet and muddy! It would have been 20 times worse. This road was the rockiest, bumpiest road I have ever been on. (6 people included) Legit we almost lost our uteruses on this road!! We jumped out of our seats every 5 seconds! This would NOT have been fun with kids AT all!!! I recommend a TRUCK/Jeep with AC, great tires, KEEP the windows up, don’t open a full drink, and make sure you wear a helmet so if your head hits the roof you’ll survive it. (You’ll need a chiropractor/massage the next day) It took us 3 hours to get to the beach and back!! We went 5 miles an hour for 6 miles!!! It was definitely not a quick trip! At the end there is a pretty beach BUT too windy to stay and hang! (Remember your path back) Also watch for thorns if you pee in the bushes! All and all if you want a great, pee your pants experience, THIS road is the one for you!!! We still had a blast BUT boy did we underestimate that road!! Lanai- 1 , 7 women (who gave birth to many...

This place looks like Mars. There’s nobody here and you need Jeep or a vehicle with great suspension to get here.

It was about a 20/30 minute bumpy ride from the Sensei resort. I recommend that you find someone to drive you there that knows the road. There were no signs until you get to the place so if you haven’t been there, it’s hard to gauge.

If it’s raining and muddy, be warned. You might get stuck in the mud. There were not an inch of paved road.

All in all, it was great. Windy but an awesome view. You can see all the surrounding islands and you can touch the clouds if it’s low enough.

There’s no place like it on earth. Check out the...

We rented a Jeep and took the small dirt trail to visit the Garden of the Gods. It was a fun family activity and I highly recommend to anyone looking to do a little touring while on the island. The trail is pretty rugged and soft in a few spots so a vehicle with high clearance and four wheel drive is a must. The road also gets very narrow in spots with some blind corners so the responsible driving rules of avoiding excessive speed and distracted driving definitely apply. We took our trip when it was very dry which I believe to be preferred. I think I would avoid driving the trail after a strong rain or any series of weather events that...

This is an amazing experience! When you are on the dirt road leading to this attraction, there is a point in the road where you will come to a fork. Make sure to go to the right and follow signs that say Keahiakawelo. Once, you arrive, you won't believe your eyes. At times, it will look like you're on Mars with giant rocks and red soil. You will witness breathtaking views of Maui and Molokai'i. However, be prepared for extreme wind. Garden of the Gods is in a wind channel that runs between the islands. Wind gusts can easily reach up to 70 miles per hour.

This is an austere and beautiful spot on Lanai’s north side. I recommend only taking a 4WD vehicle. Plenty of spots to pull off, park, and walk around. There are piles of stacked rocks (ahus) that are of cultural significance at this site, so be careful in your adventures. The route we took started just north of the Four Season Sensei Retreat and we shared the road with some trail bikers and other Jeeps. There are no facilities and minimal cell service, so pack in and pack out what you need. Enjoy!
