Great airport! No concessions, but we were in and out on mokulele in 30 minutes. Clean facilities and courteous staff.

The best (only?) airport on Lanai. Tiny and efficient.

Flew in to Lana’i booked flights first class AA COU-DFW-HNL—Hawaiian Airlines to Lana’i with no checked baggage fee. Flew out of Lana’i in reverse order same flights charged $25 per baggage fee on Hawaiian Airlines.

Called about checking bag through to final destination, was told we could not do that and would have to pick up at baggage claim in HNL and go through check in and security there. Got to check in desk, was told they would check bags through to final destination.

Check in desk printed out all the boarding passes for our flights, but did not use the seat assignments on my booking itineraries. I did not notice this until prior to boarding in HNL, luckily I was able to have it corrected before boarding otherwise instead of first class we would have been in coach.

Plane was delayed in Lana’i and we had to go back out to restrooms and come back through security. Coming back I forgot to remove my wallet and security officer took great pleasure in having me loosen my belt, sticking his hand down my shorts, swabbing my hands and testing for explosives, and looking through my wallet while the others began boarding. The other security offered to just run my wallet through her scanner but he waived her off. So much for the aloha spirit. That guy is a real jerk and should be anal probed...

When we arrived at the airport the curbside baggage man was not at his post more than at his post. Checking in with him was slower than going to baggage check in. No one employed there cared. They divided the seating by the gate in half, one half for each gate. This meant half the passengers had no seat waiting to board and the other half completely empty. I had to hold it in until I boarded. And there was a big line at the toilets for use. Therefore I had to hold it in another 45 minutes. Other airports like lax and Memphis have common seating and have no problems. There were few stores to buy things. With 20 minutes of redecorating it would fit in with a Mad...

It's a very small airport, serving an island with a small population. For the amount of air traffic at present, this little airport is very adequate. Just don't expect there to be many amenities or doing shopping there. Important thing to note is that the toilet is before you pass the security check. There is no toilet in the restricted area. You would need to go outside and pass though security check again if...
