If on Lanai this is a must visit. From Lanai City the drive is about 8 miles down hill on a paved road. At the bottom you will take a left and drive 3 miles on a dirt and sand mix of a road. You can see the shipwreck from the road, but keep driving to the end of the road.

Read moreShipwreck beach is named for the many ships that have wrecked or have been intentionally sunk in the channel between Lanai and Molokai. The grounded wreck that is visible is a WWII era ferro-cement navy fuel barge. Strong trade winds make the beach a rather windy place. The trade winds and big channel swells are the reason there are so many shipwrecks here. Some of the timber on the beach may be from 18th of 19th century ships.
