Everytime I come up this way or on the way back I always stop. Theres something "mistic" about the site...most of the time its on the way up -I get my "blessing" at least a couple of times in a year -i have walked down at different seasons and each time holds another surprise of flowers in the spring and summer ,to Bishop Baraga surrounded in snow....read his story-light a candle...or check out the little gift shop (I hear they make Pasties on occasion) Everyone thats ever had to ride or follow me knows ..we stop, a must see for history buffs .oh did i say it was the beginning of the...

The Bishop Baraga Shrine is taken care of by the Bishop Baraga Foundation and is not connected in any way to the Holy Store next to the property. The blue cabin on the Shrine property is the new gift shop with all proceeds going back into the care of the grounds and statue. There are picnic tables and lots of benches on the Shrine property. The blue cabin is the only shop that sells authentic Bishop Baraga Shrine items. A healing Mass is held once a year and many potential healings have...

What a beautiful place! Wander and see how peaceful it is. Read all of the signs of it's history. Bishop Baraga went through so much back then. Let's not forget him. The grounds are pretty and the trail is extended for further walking. Don't drive through this area without stopping. I have attached some photos. We will...

A wonderful venue of serenity amidst the bustle of campers, vacationers, and busy locals along the Lakeshore. Quietly pray the rosary in their woody setting and visit the shrine memorializing the bishop's missionary work. A true gem and worth the visit! Oh, and the view of the lake is spectacular!
