Two adults brought 6 kids to see the bison and we weren't disappointed! The 30+ acres the bison roam, at first, seemed empty. After talking to the very kind and helpful ranger/official who lives and works there, he let the kids look at the wonderful, friendly goats in a pasture by their property. Then he explained the best times of the day to catch the bison.
Sure enough, as we began leaving the park, the really awesome bison were grazing right inside the fence. We got out and were really impressed, not only by the majestic animals, but that the viewing area was mowed to allow sightseers to walk along the fence.

The shelter by the campground however is badly in need of shingling, and there were pieces of shingles inside that we had to get out. But it worked for us, and everything was good! There was not electric in the shelter, but there were electrical posts you could take your table to and plug into to. I would recommend this place...

It has rolling hills, a nice lake (except in 2025 they drained it to do some work on it), a bow range, picnic areas, a campground, a disc golf course through the woods, wildflower meadows, hunting areas, AND buffalo and elk to see.
