Yummi Harvest — Attraction in Lady Lake

Move from IL to FL three months ago & been wanting to try orange picking for a long time because we only do apple, cherry or strawberry picking back in IL. My husband & I went on Sunday & had fun first time orange picking! A rare family owned hidden gem at the moment, there's not much visitors & you get a calm peaceful experience walking around picking oranges.

We were greeted warmly by the owner's son and had a free tasting of their fresh orange juice. It was the sweetest and less acidic orange we ever tasted! Getting tips how to harvest an orange was extremely helpful. Only $20 per bag and we love how we can fill it up as much as we want. The highlight were getting to see their pretty farm animals & got to feed them with oranges. I hope one day when they get too much visitors, they will have an animal experience where visitors pay for actual food treat bag to go in & hand feed them instead of just orange (or give milk to baby sheep). I think it be a good idea to support the farm. Also, I hope they will have a fruit picker pole available for short people like me to reach the good ones that are unreachable for our height.

We ended up not only coming home with memorable experience & bag full of oranges...but also a meyer lemon & hamlin fruit plant. Having the cold orange juice available for purchase came in handy. It was refreshing to drink after harvesting in 75° weather. They were also in adorable container so don't forget to buy some for the road or to share to fam/friends or your neighbors! Yummi Harvest has the sweetest and freshest microgreens, sprouts and wheat grass anywhere around! The owners were so knowledgeable and sweet and really cared about what they were doing. They love to give back to the community they live in and they’re right here close to Summerfield and Lake County which makes them our neighbors! They’re also making the rounds at local organic outside markets like the Market at Ferron! Looking forward to seeing them in Publix soon!

I loved the microgreens for all the vitamins and micronutrients they provide in just a small handful, my cats loved the wheat grass and the whole family can’t wait to go to their U Pick Orange Grove this winter!

I can’t say enough good things about this family farm that grows micro greens! Every order we’ve received has been fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor.

It’s been fun trying the different varieties in salads, smoothies, eggs, and on avocado toast. We made the pea shoots salad the owners recommended and it is now our favorite!!
