A wonderful and amazing place to visit with kids. This includes museums and farms at the Prophetstown. We visited them and spent around three hours there. The house has a lot of amazing old stuff. Some of them are very interesting. The friendly staff helped and described the items with details. I highly recommend the museums. The kids however, loved the live animals much more. It was delightful to walk among ducks, chickens, turkeys, and to check their lovely houses. They also liked the barns, horses, cows, pigs, pony, rabbits, the cat, and the baby sheep. However, they could improve the presentation of old...

Excellent state park. Nice flat trails are easy for families with kids. 2 very large playgrounds. The water park is a major draw so be sure to go early if you want a good seat. The Farm is great for kids to see how a farm operates.

Only gripe is that the campground seems under staffed. Comfort stations could use some attention and seemingly went untouched...

A really neat living museum. A tour of the house shows a glimpse of how life was back in the early 1900s. It was cold today so mst of the buildings were closed, but all of the animals were out and available. The chickens and turkeys were the stars today as they followed us around and let us pet them. Such a fun experience, we will definitely be back...

The homes are beautiful! The farm is well maintained and almost everything there is interactive. The volunteers are friendly and knowledgable. The kids had fun exploring and seeing all the animals. The Blacksmith was a favourite of theirs. I think they are only at the Blacksmith on the weekends, check before going if that is what you are interested in.

Prophetstown farm is very historical place. They try to replicate the 1920s as much as possible. Between the equipment the restoration and just the lifestyle that there is. The farm in the museum are one in the same and a place is absolutely amazing.
