I took my Cub Scout pack here for a hike to Barbara's Lake. I think it is the only natural fresh water lake in orange county. Anyways, this is a great jumping off point for a myriad of trails in Laguna canyon. Barbara's Lake is a great hike, not too easy and just challenging enough to keep my scouts interested. Also has some interesting history involving lion country safari and an escaped hippo named Bubbles. I highly recommend this hike and want to remind you to bring plenty of water and to wear appropriate sun protection. Happy trails and cheers! Read moreNice hiking, but the freeway and developments nearby put a damper on the experience. The lake itself is nice to go by, and the hikes are very moderate. Unfortunately when you get to the top one side is freeway and the other is a community, so not much to see.
