Prien Lake Park — Attraction in Lake Charles

Beautiful place to come with your family, kids, a date, or spend some time alone. It's always clean and they have a lot to do for someone that's wanting to stay motivated to work out or just bring the kids for a fun day out. My advice about coming here when it's hot is to ALWAYS bring LOTS of cold water and wear light clothing. It's so incredibly hot in the summer months and even though they DO have water fountains for humans and dogs the water doesn't always run at each fountain and the ones that do work aren't always cold. They have a water splash pad, great for the little ones and I feel safe when walking with friends or alone. Always keep your eyes and ears open anytime you are outside alone working out and have fun. I enjoy this location so much and I hope you do too. Love it or chuck it vote Prien Lake Park 80% and we love it....

Beautiful park right off the I-210 bridge in Lake Charles! This was my first time visiting this park, and I was pleasantly surprised! There were many people there, but it wasn't crowded and had nice, shaded parking available. Ages ranged from very young to mature and wise! Some people were walking, other people were sitting at tables, and some people were sitting in the grassy areas. The view of the lake is beautiful (but I would still not get close to that water! Not since I was 12 years old. Yuck!) But it was very scenic, albeit a little noisy from the traffic and people chatting. Still, it was relaxing and a nice experience! Nice addition to...

My sister had her daughter's 3rd birthday here. Tons of toddlers running around. Felt perfectly safe. They had security riding around and someone came to change the trash as soon as they saw it was full. The bathrooms cause it to lose a star cause there's no ventilation so it was really humid and smelly, a bit dirty but nothing you wouldn't expect from a public bathroom, plus there wasn't any soap :/ but overall, with the various play areas, pavilions with space for privacy, PLENTY of parking and a huge splash pad with benches and covered picnic tables, it still gets a very solid 4 stars. I plan to have my kid's birthday parties here...
