The Moore Farms Botanical Garden is a very nice experience! Pretty much says it all.
I am so impressed with the grounds. From the very start the attention to the grounds is evident. Even the gate is art. All along the road there is reused "Junk" turned into sculpture. Once you round the curve and look over the lake to see the Visitor's Center you will see how much the staff appreciates this place and how hard they work to make it a great experience. We went for the MFBG Beer Fest (2017) and riding the bus from the Inn, we were able to meet some other folks who were here before and really loved it. We finally were able to check in and while there was some confusion checking in (I did not get a T-shirt in my "Big Boy" size) it was a pretty easy process. Once the event got started and we were able to see the grounds I soon forgot all about our check in troubles.
The only fail was the food, apparently some of the food truck vendors bailed and the wait for food was over a hour. They guys that were there were doing their best, but clearly very overwhelmed! Someone from staff should have recognized it and ordered a boat load of pizza to be sold (or given away to take away from that negative). While not a fail, but a negative was the level of knowledge with some of the volunteers serving. We spent time explaining what types of beer they were serving.
Overall The MFBG Beer Fest is a great time and I cannot recommend VIP and the event overall anymore! Great time had by all and on my list of "To Do" as well as MFBG in general, the staff and volunteers...
Read moreTruly an unexpected treasure! The quality of the Moore Farms Botanical Garden rivals many of the gardens I has seen all over this great country. We visited during the 2024 Artfields competition and the gardens were in bloom, amazingly groomed and just stunningly beautiful. Easy parking, Free entrance. Lake City is lucky to have such a patron in their town who has put this much love, effort and support into everything they do. Will be returning every year that...
Read moreA beautiful garden! Definitely worth a visit. Pictures do not do it justice. Unfortunately, it is only open to the public a few times a year for free. The first week in May (ArtFields) is one of those times. You can book private tours and they do have a few other events each year at the garden.
You can easily spend 2 hours here wondering around. There are benches and swings all along the paths and...
