Sandy Beach is a great local beach to visit. The water is wonderful and clean and there is plenty of shaded areas if you need a break from the sun. Grills are available if you are able to snag one. Nice size shelter for get together. They have a variety of things to do: sand volleyball, paddle board rental, kayak rental. If you love Devil's Lake but dont want to drive the distance or have to get there super early to get a spot, Sandy Lake is about 15-20 minutes from Madison and just as beautiful. Parking does fill up on really nice days and there is additional road parking or there is another parking area further away by their park that isn't a terrible walk but if you have stuff to transport you will want extra hands or a wagon to get everything...

Very large beach area. The water is fairly clear but fairly cold in June. Lots of drunks screaming people and someone brought a boombox and for whatever reason placed it right next to me and my baby and then just walked away? He was holding a beer and clearly drunk but that was upsetting for my baby to go through. The sand was okay but a fair bit of rougher rocks along the shoreline. Very loud and large crowds on the weekend but enough space that you should be able to stay fairly on ur own if u wish. Overall I’d return just due to the clarity of the water. That was the biggest pro. My biggest con would be the amount of drunk people around. Not very family friendly to be around that...

My family just spent all day at this AWESOME beach for my 45th birthday. Hands down the cleanest, nicest beach we've visited this year. Deep sandy beach, and clean clear water that's 78 degrees!!.....To all the locals that make this beach so nice... THANK YOU!!! and keep up the great work!!.....We then went into town and enjoyed a great meal at La Mariachi Mexican Restaurant. I have not been to Lake Mills in over 30 years and no idea what to expect. Needless to say, the Town and Beach get a double gold star on our map and we will be returning many times this summer for more fun...

Place is filled with the parasite that causes swimmers itch and no one warns you but there’s a small sign posted on the side of a building if you’re lucky to see it. My sister and I both in our third trimester of pregnancy got full of it and it’s just awful. I just can’t believe they need $4 so bad they wouldn’t verbally warn people.. especially people obviously immunocompromised. Been to the doctor twice now and it’s only been getting worse.

It states that dogs are allowed. I tried to do extra digging to make sure but the website wasn’t working and non of the reviews stated otherwise. I had never been there before and came from out of town a ways only to discover that dogs are indeed NOT allowed. Greatly disappointing to myself and my little kids who were ready for the beach and had to turn around and leave. I’m sure the beach is beautiful otherwise.

Nice beach areas. Extremely crowded. Some patrons very rude and walk all over your blankets and towels. Bathrooms are plumbed but limited so womens gathers a line, which props open the doors and allows gnats inside to torment you while you pee. Otherwise it is a nice beach and lake. There is a fee to use the beach and launch a boat.
