At Point Betsie, Michigan, my wife and I set out on a rockhounding adventure that felt like stepping into another world. The shores were littered with stones of every hue and texture, each one a small miracle waiting to be found. The lake stretched out in endless shades of blue and silver, the sky above wide and wild with light. We wandered together, pockets heavy with treasures, hearts even heavier with gratitude. The beauty around us was unimaginable, not just in the stones we gathered, but in every whisper of wind and every crash of the waves. In moments like these, you realize how rare it is to find both a place and a partner so perfectly matched to the spirit of adventure and the soul of an artist. I could not have asked for a better companion, nor a more...

We visited Point Betsie in March on a cold spring day. The beach was beautiful, the waters were turquoise, the wind was strong, but the views were incredible. As you can see, we basically had the whole beach to ourselves. The rock picking was incredible this time of year since there are not beachgoers yet. We only ran into about 4 people the hour we were there, searching for their own rock treasures, too. All were polite and said hi, one stopped to have a conversation and show us some he found. There is almost no parking, so if you're visiting in the busy season, I'm not sure how that works itself out. We parked on the street, but we were unsure if we could do that during the summer. There was no access to the lighthouse, but it looked beautiful and...

My wife and I came here for a date recently and got to watch one of the most memorable sunsets, so calm, all the people that were there to do the same were very curious of others and quiet, a nice couple even offered to let us use the fire they started when they left so it was one of the most relaxing nights I’ve ever had, it’s also beautiful to see at any time of day, even at night with all of the stars. definitely recommend coming here, hope you have as peaceful...

This is a beautiful place just north of Frankfort on M-22. To access the lighthouse and attached museum there is a small charge (this goes for upkeep) well worth it. You can go up in the tower as well. The grounds are very nice and the sunset here is breathtaking. The access to the lighthouse is only during the warmer months you can visit the beach right next to it whenever. If you are going for sunset in the summer get there early and bring some drinks!
