Lake Poinsett Recreation Area — Attraction in Laketon Township

Good for quick visit, camping, boating and fishing! Only about 30 minutes ride from Brookings you can do bunch of activities that is applicable to the whole family in Lake Poinsett. There’s playground for kids and you can just swim on the lake. There are restrooms on many spots. Also good for picnic and barbecue! Love this campground! Gorgeous, spacious, beautiful sunsets, nice people and excellent swimming beach! We stayed at five campgrounds as we traveled north last week. This was BY FAR the best! This is an awesome campground! The women's showers could use a good deep cleansing. But, otherwise this campground checks ALL the boxes! We will for sure be back! Wonderful campgrounds! I would most definitely stay here again. There is a dump/water station for the campers and a fish cleaning station, boat launch, swimming area, hiking trails, bathrooms and even showers, not to mention the big dumpsters for garbage.
