We went for the first part of our "staycation" for spring break and this experience will be hard to top! Mary Ann was our guide and was so knowledgeable! She covered all the bases on llama knowledge and left us with very few questions at all. When you first arrive you can pet the available llamas and wait for your guide. Then you get to meet Mr. Bungles and Zorro. Zorro is very old and sweet and Mr. Bungles is a mix with an alpaca. We learned about the differences between llamas and alpacas as well. Then, you get to go meet the babies. Most were "teenager" age but still very little and very sweet. The chatty ones are so sweet with their humming, and they are all so pretty! After that we got to pick a llama to take for a walk. They definitely show their personalities during the walk. I walked Bailey and my boyfriend walked Blues, who was feeling a bit stubborn that day! Very cheeky. Then we got to brush our choice llama and feed them treats. Bailey was a sweet little glutton and enjoyed the treats and the brushing very much. Overall, this was such a lovely little experience. I couldn't stop smiling the entire time. Thank...
Read moreI just finished my second llama tour! My first was in February and it was just awesome, I had to bring my family back in the Summer ( it was MORE AWESOME). This is now one of my go to’s for when I have family in town! I don’t think I’ll ever stop coming to Carlson’s lovable llamas.
I had 19 people in my group and Rick did an awesome job making sure my group was accommodated. I had last minute guests in which I thought I needed more reservations, but Rick got back to me in a timely manner and was able to get me two extra spots.
Shout out to Evan for being a great tour guide like always. There was 19 of us including little ones, and Evan was able to keep up the same energy and enthusiasm throughout the tour.
My family couldn’t stop talking about llamas for the rest of the day. It was a huge hit for them, and many told me they were planning to visit again!
Overall, I thought having a group of 18-20 people would be too much, however Carlson’s lovable llamas was able to accommodate my group Just fine!
If I could give 100 starts, I would! Plenty of petting, walking, and...
Read moreMy friend and I had a wonderful time. Overall it was a great experience and I think the animals are treated very well. We had a wonderful time on the walk with the llamas. We quite enjoyed sitting and chatting with our guide about all things llamas. Even the cats there were adorable. The only concern I had was when we were in with the new babies. Our guide insisted on making the babies give us a "kiss " by turning the baby's heads around and rubbing their snouts on our cheeks. It was very abrupt and came at us out of the blue. I personally didn't quite understand what was going on and tried to pull away. My friend felt the same way and the baby she was holding started to squirm and accidentally headbutted her cutting her lip. I'm sure he's done that with many people and they found it charming and adorable but we found it to be a little alarming on behalf of the babies and intrusive for ourselves. Maybe get people's permission before shoving a baby llama's face...
