Lake Shenandoah County Park — Attraction in Lakewood Township

New to the area - this is the cleanest park we've seen so far. Boat ramp /surrounding banks w/ broken liquor bottles, beer cans. Unfortunate. Visitor center staff member was friendly and helpful - provided a schedule of events which look interesting . Restroom dated but very clean. Lake was drained for maintenance. HORRIBLE. The absolute worst lake I've ever been to. Not even from a fishing stand point. Its been neglected for years by the looks of it. Everything is overgrown, the docks are falling apart. The boat ramps are covered in oil slicks and are missing half the slab. Every bank of the water is LITTERED with about 2 feet of trash floating in the water. The lake and the views of the sunsets are just perfect here. If one concentrates on the nature, you can get past that and enjoy the park. There is a sweet serenity here as it is never crowded and mostly quiet. This is a park I have vested over the past 45 years, and it seems a little run down, especially the paved parking lots and roads with many divots. The docks can use a refurbishing as well.
