Lancaster's hidden gem! Small and cozy place for pond fishing, easy hikes, reading a book, alone time, art, picnic, etc...
I have even been here for a last minute photography session. For those who want a local green or fall simple background, it is it.
My only bone to pick with the is the up keep of the lawn. There has been times that I had to leave because the grass was too tall (near the trails) for us o enjoy, granted I was there with several walking toddlers. Outside of that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!
P.S. Please keep out hidden gem clean! Respect all wildlife, keep in mind it's their home. We won't like our guest to disrupt our way of living, would we? Leave the park better than you found it. πͺΆπ±π₯π§ππΌπ

Great place to enjoy lunch or go for a walk in nature. There is a fun climbing rock if you want to do some bouldering with the kids. Clean bathrooms, lots of picnic tables, and we defined trails that lead to a fishing pier.
We saw signs of a bever in the area around the pier. Lots of chewed tree stumps about a foot tall. We never did see a bever, though, but there are lots of red eared slider turtles.
There are horse paths, trails, and a designated area for horses.
It is very easy to find and has quick access to 342 and I-35 nestled between Red Oak, Lancaster, and...
Β Β Β Read moreThis place is okay. For a nice park with lots of tree shade, It's fantastic!. They are trying to build a decent fishery here, and that's struggling. But as an owner of a small pond myself, I can tell you it's very difficult with the past years of drought that we've had. They are obviously putting a lot of landscaping and water conservation effort into this. I just think this small and shallow of a pond is absolutely screaming for a pond aerator/ fountain to help them grow bigger fish. If they had that and a little better connection to Bear Creek for water flow in and out, this could develop some really great...
