Saturday was busy as could be expected so much so whem we arrived there was no parking in the normal lot we were directed past it and it was unclear to me where I was supposed to turn next so when I stopped to ask I was told I passed it so that was that and we went home. We did however go back on Sunday got there about noon and there was plenty of parking available and plenty to do still. I finally got my Carmel apple I've been wanting all year and not been able to get. Been to 3 other festivals and either they where sold out or just didn't have them. So that made my day. The wife got her deep fried snicker which she loved and we got some kettle corn before we left. All in all it was a great festival to attend and had plenty to do. Can't wait...
Read moreFirst time I have ever been here. Came on a Thursday evening. Told it would not be as crowded. They were right. Parked in the field behind the festival. I enjoyed taking some pictures of the tractors and equipment. Did not grow up on a farm so I was fascinated by what I saw. I bought a Lanesville Heritage T-Shirt first thing. I went and got a steak sandwich and a soda. Thought the food was good. I stayed for about three hours and then drove back to Corydon. I will say this was well organized. I liked that there were plenty of vendors on hand. It gives people a variety of things to do. I think that I will come back next year. Read moreI've gone to Heritage Weekend for more than 25 years now, and lete tell you, as a Lanesville native, I just love to go and see how the old farm work was done. Now days, I work at Heritage with the wheat threshing: throwing the wheat into the thresher, bagging the wheat, and bailing the hay. I love to see how other things were done, such as wood work, but the biggest of all the old machines I'm always interested in are the old motors! Not vehicle transportation motors, standalone randomly firing motors connected to specific devices used to carry out specific tasks.
