I attended a wedding at this location, Meaning i have no financial stake in leaving this review. While i can appreciate a rustic location, this isn't a well done rustic location. With the hefty price tag on this venue, somone needed to warn people. If they were charging lese, i wouldn't have done this. The wedding took place on a hotter than blue blazes day, so some of the general issues will pertain to inclement weather. There is no ac in any of the venue building's other than the bridal cottage. The upstairs in the barn does not have enough windows to even get a good airflow going. Because you can't count on Mother Nature to give you good weather on your wedding day, this is a neccessary piece of information. If it rains or is too hot there is nowhere to escape without roasting inside. The chair lift to the 2nd floor of the barn was broken. From what i understand there were assurances made to the couple that it would be repaired prior to the wedding day. This particular amenity is one of the reasons this location is chosen. The lower section of the barn has not been well maintained. The horse stalls look okish but because of lack of maintenance they are more in the way than anything. There is no water available anywhere near the barn. The electricity in the barn is spaced out and one of the oulets blew plugging in a standard food roaster. We were rushed to unload the food and move the vehicle being unloaded to the extent we had to move everything 3 times minimum. For the cermony area behind the barn. The area hadn't been mowed and weed eaten to the point that anyone trying to escape the sun was standing knee high in weeds with animal droppings everywhere. It didn't appear that any maintenance had been done on the "aisle" section. If you use an aisle runner to avoid the hem of the brides dress being dragged in dirt, be very careful with your guests walking to their seats. Which are benches in need of a light sanding, the splinters in back sides were horrible. The front area with the picnic tables had not been mulched in so long that the clear plastic landscape plastic was showing everywhere. The dance floor was not tilled underneath so it is significantly uneven with large gaps. The area where they had play equipment for the kids was not mowed completely or weed eaten at all. Through out all areas there was days old sun dried animal droppings. There are animals running around so fresh ones wouldn't be surprising, but the time should have been taken to remove the old ones. Almost every area with mulch or gravel needed more Almost everything needed a fresh coat of paint or clear coat not only for ascetic purposes but for splintering wood. The interactions with the owners were not bad. Just their maintenance of...
Read moreIf you are planning a rustic wedding in Kansas then you should check out Lamborn Farm in Leavenworth, KS. I chose this venue for my July 30th wedding and I couldn't be more pleased. I visited other local venues that offered a barn wedding and all of them wanted to charge more for a smaller barn and offered less. When you rent Lamborn Farm you can use any of the decorations and props they have available for no extra charge. You get the venue for the weekend so you can setup Friday and clean up Sunday. You also get the Lamborn family that will help you setup for your special day. I wanted to have a fire pit and s'mores during my reception and they setup hay bails around a fire pit, they started the fire and a member of the family set out by the fire all night watching and helping people make s'mores. They did not charge me anything for this service. I can not say enough nice things about the family and venue. My wedding day was perfect because I chose Lamborn Farm which was the perfect venue for the...
Read moreI discovered Lamborn Farm through Harvest Hosts, an RV membership site. This site was an ideal destination as part of my summer travel route. The best part of this location was how easy it was to communicate with the host. He prefers text and phone calls since he is busy with the farm and event side of the business. He checked in regularly with my progress and travels and helped me once I got lost. I didn't get to spend much time talking with the host and yet he gave me a history of the farm and all that he and his family do here. Green. Lush. Quiet. Excellent place to park! I parked closer to the lane since it was slightly more level there. Lots of room to maneuver and get settled in. Wonderful sounds on the farm including the normal (cows, hawks, songbirds, chickens) and the not-so-normal (coyotes and peacocks!) You may even find a peacock feather! Too bad I didn't have an event to attend here - the peace and beauty of the land form the ideal...
