Many roads in the area just west of Hillsgrove were destroyed by the floods on October 21, 2016. The following roads will be closed for at least until the end of 2016: Mill Creek Rd, Big Hollow Rd, Walker Rd, Hoagland Branch Rd. Pleasant Stream Rd will likely be closed indefinitely. Additionally, the southern half of the Old Logger's Path is currently inaccessible.

Quite possibly the last stretch of forest unspoiled by fracking in the whole state. And perhaps the most beautiful. If you're doing a day trip, I highly suggest checking out Rock Run. Good swimming holes for a hot summer day, scenic waterfalls, and some trout fishing. For excellent trout fishing, check out the Loyalsock Creek. You will not be disappointed. If you're a hiker, do not miss the Old Loggers Path and the famous Loyalsock Trail, both packed with day and...

I did a 3 day backpacking trip along the 28 old loggers path. The summits were beautiful, and where yellow dog run meets rock run was gorgeous. There were plenty of campsites with fire pits, and I even saw two lean-tos. If you hike around the trail clockwise, there is a known rattlesnake hangout at mile 12.5. There's a ton of stinging nettle, so I'd advise wearing long pants. The trail is well blazed and easy to follow, if you lose it just stop and look around and you'll find it again. The only real complaint is that a lot of spots were overgrown, washed out, had downed trees, or even missing bridges. I suspect there was a storm soon before my trip that caused all this damage, I'll have to go back to see if it...

I live in Ga now and this is one place that I think of weekly. I miss it but will be back and never leave again. I plan on having my last meditation along with my last breath at camp site 4 on Bodine mountain. It won’t be long she has sucked the life out of me. I only wish I could take my son Jakob there. We had the most amazing time together the last time we were there with each other. Unless God allows the truth to be known to the courts my next visit will be by myself and the Gods that do look...

Really showcases the natural assets of Pennsylvania. Great vista lookouts and trout streams for fishing and swimming. Cant go wrong for a camping trip! Just do your homework to plan the best places to check out. A hidden gem for biking on road (scenery not shoulder lanes) and especially off. Ask locals for truly amazing waterfalls and swimming holes to discover. Checkout Big Mike's Forksville store for the best Philly-style deli and sandwiches

I stayed at campsite 990 on Sand Stone Road off Rock Run Road. It was simple with a rock campfire ring but nice, open space and it was close to Loyalsock Creek so you can hear it. The road leading to the sight was a very drivable dirt road although I do have AWD. I was confused about where the campsite was because the GPS coordinates took me to a dirt road above Sand Stone. It was a nice campsite.
