Paseos Park is a good park that could be an excellent park if it were not for inconsiderate people. The setting is excellent and clearly the taxpayers shelled out a lot of money to create this park. But you see, the rude folks regularly ruin it for everyone else. Many dog owners do not pick up after their pets. The lawn is a dog toilet because too many dog owners refuse to recover the dog feces even though the park is full of free doggy waste stations. Despite all the trash bins, people still leave garbage behind. People regularly ride bikes on sidewalks, play music so loud it disrupts others and do not mind their pets even though there are publicly posted rules and others constantly and politely request they follow the rules. Despite the prohibition, everyone drinks and gets high in the park and the paid security guards do nothing. The solution? Put a fence around the park and charge a nominal fee for the up-keep including staff that requests folk leave if they do not follow the rules. Public parks are a great example of how we cannot have nice things in society because of...
Read moreBest water fountains play area in the Las Vegas valley, outside of a paid water amusement park, in my experience. My kids and I have a blast here. There is a nice playground play set and a sandbox for the dirty lovers. The water is cold so it is best on a hot day without wind, although this high 70's Spring day was great! Sit in the sun on a warm bench with a towel to warm up after a round of water play then back at it again. This clean open area park with a lot of shade from mature trees around the playground, on natural grass, is perfect for picnics and bbqs in the covered pavilions with picnic tables. Enjoy your summers here for sure. It is a beautiful park year round. My favorite time here is summer for the water...
Read moreGreat park for the kids to play and a decent walking path to get those steps in. There are basketball courts and a sand volleyball court as well. The play area has playground equipment, sand play area and a splash pad for the summer months. The open areas have lots of space and they do have two baseball/softball backstops. No actual field of play but bring your own bases and have a ball. All and all a good place to play in Vegas with the littles. Not sure what they will do for the water reduction project slated to start soon but it will be sad to see the grass go away (understanding the resource needs of grass but still sad if...
