The treehouse at @edenwoodnc is the perfect mini getaway! Save for future planning ⤵️ @edenwoodnc is located in Hendersonville, NC on a beautiful piece of land. We celebrated Connor’s 31st birthday here and it was the best way to spend some much needed time together. The property is really private and we LOVED the massive windows that made it feel like we were in the woods while laying in bed. 📍Hendersonville, NC 🛏️ Sleeps 2 👩🍳kitchenette with microwave, mini fridge, coffee machine, and sink! 💦 Beautiful wood hot tub 🔥Outdoor fire pit and hammock 🥾 close to Jump Off Rock, DuPont State Forest, and Green River Gamelands Would you stay here?!? *this stay was hosted Follow @catescompass for more adventures in the Southeast & beyond! . . . . . #cabingetaway #treehouse #hendersonvillenc #airbnbtravel

Have you been hiking in Hendersonville, NC? If not, you need to add it to your list! [A D] @visithendersonvillenc I absolutely love hiking in this area because there is always a new trail to explore. Whether you’re looking for a short waterfall hike or you want something more challenging, Hendersonville has you covered. Here are some of my favorite trails in the area: 📍Jump Off Rock 📍Bearwallow Mountain 📍Stone Mountain Trail 📍Wintergreen Falls Loop Trail 📍High Falls Trail Do you have a favorite in the area? I still need to check out Big Glassy and Wildcat Rock Please remember to ALWAYS Leave No Trace when adventuring outdoors: - Pack out what you pack in (AKA don’t litter 🚯 ) - Respect wildlife - Be considerate of other adventurers Check out LNT.org for more info on how to recreate responsibly. #visithendersonville #discoverthecarolinas #hikemore #hikingtrails

As an introvert who is not fully afraid of heights (there is a limit), this is the perfect place to be early in the morning. It was a beautiful day, lots of sun, but chilly. In November, it is a great idea to take a jacket and gloves. I had the place to myself, which was awesome. I didn't hike the trails, but I am guessing it would be lovely to do so. If you own a nice camera that takes awesome shots, bring it with you. I used my cell phone, but wished I had a good camera. Cell phones do not do justice to the awesome beauty. The road is narrow, 20-25 miles per hour. Trust, you will not really want to drive any faster. I love the mountains, but I would not live up there. The houses on the side of the mountain, man, that is crazy. That is the limit I spoke about at the beginning of my post. Not living up there. Otherwise, it is worth the drive if 3,100 feet above sea level doesn't disturb you. Just beautiful is all I can say. Makes me know that someone more powerful than human beings created this earth. It did not just show up out of the blue. Thought went into this.

Jump Off Rock is located just five miles from downtown Hendersonsville. It's open all year, sunrise to sunset, and located in the town of Laurel Park. Admission is free. After you take a curvy mountain road up to the 3,100-foot summit, you'll find a small park with a stone overlook, benches and several short hiking trails. It's a short, level walk to the view, so a great place for those with mobility issues to enjoy similar summit views that hikers enjoy. A sign helps you identify mountain peaks like Mt. Pisgah and Cold Mountain. I'm told it's a popular place to watch the sunset. It's certainly a romantic view, complete with a tragic legend of a young Cherokee Indian maiden receiving word that her young Indian chief had been killed in battle. So she climbed to the edge of the rock and jumped off. On moonlit nights you can supposedly see her ghost on rock. I tried to get my wife to do what the sign ( and legend ) said...but she replied, "You first!" Hahahahahaha! 😂 Head's up: There are no restroom facilities here, so plan ahead!

This spot at the end of a residential winding and climbing 2-lane road is well-worth the drive! The parking lot appears before you and is dotted with signs directing you to the trailhead, noting that alcohol is prohibited and the history of the rock. Park your vehicle and step out onto the asphalt lot. Take a seat on one of the benches on the lawn to enjoy the spectacular view. If more physically able, carefully make your way across the uneven top of the rock outcropping to the steel railing to claim a spot closer to the splendor. Whether the sun is high overhead or setting before you, the view of the Blue Ridge mountains and the surrounding towns. Whether trekking alone, with friends/family or with the one you love, this sight and location are must-seez. You'll find yourself planning your return before you've even left.

I had heard about this place for years but had never visited. I happened to be on the west side of Hendersonville and decided to take a little side adventure. I must say that the GPS takes you seemingly all over the place through Laurel Park before finally getting you there. The small park is well manicured and attractive and the view is quite nice, although I prefer capturing the view by including the rock itself, which in my opinion is much prettier than the view by itself. Some trees are growing up below the cliff which tend to limit the view somewhat. I hiked the blue and red trails which I would rate as moderate but short. There is a nice diversity native plant species which makes the hike a little more interesting, particularly for the wildflower enthusiast.
