South Carolina Welcome Center - Fair Play — Attraction in Lavonia

I walked into the women’s bathroom was the first one in when I seen the cleaning lady made eye contact- nothing. Soon as I go into a stall another lady walks in and I hear “Good Morning” from cleaning lady to her and the lady replies “Good morning, to you too” so I get out wash my hands eye contact again and still nothing. I’m just baffled at her acting as if I was not even standing there now if she was to walk in while I was just coming out of the bathroom yes I would’ve said good morning to her since I would’ve been in there first. First impressions that I’m assuming is she don’t like black people and the fact she rushed in to the bathroom to spray the toilet right after I came out and checked the little garbage as if I made a mess. Well lady if your reading this I am not a child, yes I have locs, and I do not appreciate not getting the hospitality as the other. Why would somebody review a welcome center? Well, I have to because stopping here changed the entire trajectory of our vacation all for the better. We came down to the south for a quick spring break vacation and we stopped her after going to Atlanta. The plan was to scoot through South Carolina and hit a bunch of the waterfalls in North Carolina and then pass through the mountains and go home. Then we met Ashley at the service desk. She was very friendly and showed us all the cool waterfalls we could see in South Carolina and marked out the ones she recommended. So instead of passing through and doing all the cool stuff we wanted to do in North Carolina, we spent our entire day chasing waterfalls in South Carolina, walking trails until our legs could not handle any more steps. Always a clean stop. I have not yet stopped and had an issue with cleanliness!!! Bathrooms at night are on the north side of the building. If passing through at night use the parking lot between the vending machine and building, handicap parking. If not handicap you can park in any of the three vehicle parking areas. If you have a truck/trailer, bus, motorhome... the roadway between semi truck parking and vending machine row is a row of parking spaces as is the stretch at the north end of the building.
