My extended family rented 4 of the modern cabins for a week in July. It was one of the hottest weeks .. and we were worried since there's no air conditioning in the cabins. We were pleasantly surprised that the temperature in the park was easily 10-15 degrees cooler than the surrounding areas and the weather was very pleasant.

The kids enjoyed the lake and beach area. It has lots of shade for the parents as well as a very nice bathroom area right in the beach area. We utilized their extremely nice beach volleyball court multiple times for some extended family fun.

I enjoyed how the sand extends out to the entire roped off swimming area for the kids. There's no rocky foundation under you when you swim. It goes up to about 5ft.

The cabins were extremely nice with a modern kitchen in them. We had the ones with two rooms - one with two sets of bunk beds and the other with a full size bed. My only gripe is I wish they would have put a queen size at least. My wife and I are used to our king size bed .. so I slept on the couch for the week. At least it was comfortable.

Beware .. there's NO cell service for TMobile or Verizon in the area and no wifi hotspots anywhere.

We really enjoyed the nature trails that are well marked and came home with a gallon bag filled with wild blueberries after one jaunt.

It was the first time our family did something like this .. we're normally a beach house family, but with all the extra things to do, we'll be coming back many years!!

It was great to have separate cabins for each of our families. They were all connected by little trails and were close enough we could send the kids to each other's houses without worrying, but secluded enough that you couldn't hear what was happening at your...

Truly one of the best State parks anywhere! So many things to do and to see! 100s of miles of trails, and activities galore...all year around. Camping, hiking, swimming, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, skiing, game and bird watching, kayaking, boat rentals...the list is endless. Both camping under the stars and rented cabin options are available. Friendly and helpful Rangers and staff. I have been enjoying this park for years, and every time I come, I discover...

Hiked the Quehanna trail in 4 day. Was expecting the trail to be much more maintained then it was. Some sections of the trail where very hard to follow because of over growth and lack of orange markings. The tremendous over growth of stinging nettle on porcupine draft is the only thing keeping this trail for me that is from getting a five star. Still would recommend this trail to anyone looking for a multi day adventure and plentiful photo opportunitys....

Backpacked a portion of the Quehanna Trail. Nice, well marked trails, with great maps available at the Parker Dam State Park office, which is also where you register for anything more than a day hike. The section I was in is pretty remote, although there are a few forest roads that run through. If you are doing a multi day backpacking trip on the Quehanna Trail, I highly suggest getting the free it will help guide you to water sources.
