Pistols & Pearls ~ A Skyline Hideaway — Attraction in Le Flore

The venue was very beautiful but I experienced it not being handicap accessible enough and having some unsafe benches and furniture. I pulled up when I arrived to park close as I have to walk with a rollator, and was greeted by a worker who quickly told me I could not park close. Her excuse to me was not getting vehicles in pictures. I would have been behind and to the side of any picture taking. Their parking lot is way down the hill too so I had to back up and park in the parking lot and roll my rollator up the hill in 90 degree weather on a rock driveway. After finally making it up the hill, I sat down on a bench . I was then greeted by another venue lady who told me to watch out as those benches would flip you off . So I get up and move feeling not very welcome due to my disability at this time. I am grandmother to the groom but also had no way to access upstairs . There is a ramp into the facility but that was it. I also saw an antique loveseat leg break off and 2 guests almost fell backwards during the reception. My son made the decision for me not to be walked in with the other grandmothers as I could not come straight out the doors and down all those steps. I would have had to go way around on the ramp and then back over to the main entrance. It was certainly a beautiful and memorable day for the couple though and that was definitely the purpose but I can assure you it was a reminder to me of just how important having handicap facilities are to someone with...

The whole process of deciding how I wanted everything set up from the ceremony and reception to how I wanted to decorate was made so easy with the help of Shelly Towbridge! She is such a sweet woman and really wanted to make sure our special day was everything we could imagine. She really cares about each bride she works with. I booked pistols in pearls about 6 months before my wedding and Shelly and I talked on the phone and texted several times throughout the time before the wedding just talking about decorating and colors and all the fun stuff. The venue really is beautiful but honestly I think Shelly is what makes it so special. I’ll always remember her and he kindness when I look back on my wedding day. She even went as far as to get me my favorite food on the day of the wedding while I was so busy getting ready and kinda anxious because she knew that would make me feel better.
