This is one of the most beautiful locations in the entire state. There are countless numbers of viewing sites, trails, roads, and overlooks that each give you a new and exciting look at the lake and surrounding mountains. The trails and roads are well marked making it easy to navigate to your desired locations or campgrounds. Alongside the lake when you can't see it, there are amazing sights of the forest and streams that are so peaceful and majestic that you just don't really want to leave. Overall the grounds are very well maintained with almost no road or trail damage to be seen other than the occasional downed branch. For as many visitors as the lake receives it is so extensive that you really don't run into the herds of people that you find at other lakes, and can easily remain secluded if that is your desire. Overall if you are looking for a true Colorado experience with lakes, streams, mountains, and amazing forest experiences, this should be the only place you need to go,...

Watch a YouTube video if you don't know what I mean. Needless to say I never confirmed what it was but lesson learned. I've never left food out since. Not...

Leadville is incredibly full of vibrance and is steeped in some of the most influential history in the nation. Fishing at the lake is killer most of the year, and if you are lucky enough to come camping when it's not crowded you will find yourself in a slice of mountain heaven. Additionally, I would recommend you bring your chainsaws as there has been a good deal of felling due to Beatle kill and that means free wood if...
