We were a group of 2 families (4 adults and 4 little kids). We booked the sleigh ride months ago, and went to take the sleigh ride today. The staff were nice enough. However, the experience was compromised due to our company on the ride. After we paid, the female staff told us to wait next to our sleigh, but DON’T get on the sleigh until the sleigh ride driver shows up. We listened. While we were waiting, an older woman in red jumped onto the first line of the sleigh. We assumed that she was one of staff as the driver was still not there yet. However, she was with another group of 8/9 people and was simply trying to hold the seats for the entire group. When we did not know what just happened, a younger woman yelled at us and said: we want to sit all together. Is it ok with you? I said, no, it’s not ok, we are two families here and we got here first. She responded very rudely: well, we are already sitting down, it is what it is. We chose not to argue as we were with our little kids. We did not want to upset our little kids by this kind of situation. We sat down at the last two rows.
During the ride, this group were very loud and rude, singing talking and laughing like they were on their private ride. The teenagers from this group even grabbed the snow and tossed at each other while the sleigh was moving. Some fell on us of course. I was regretful and wished we bought the private ride so that we did not need to tolerate this kind of behavior. We planned this ride for our little ones to enjoy the beautiful peaceful snow scenes and the joy of being on a sleigh. This group’s bad manners in public totally ruined our experience. We paid the same amount of money but we did not get the experience we deserve.
To the parents out there, your kids watch and learn from you. The best way to teach good manners is to show them how you treat and respect others.
As such, I gave 3 stars to the experience, for staff doing nothing...
Read moreThe sleigh ride was great. The treatment by staff afterwards was horrible. First we had Jimmy as our sleigh driver. He was great!! This is our 2nd time coming and it’s become a tradition our family (kids included) have looked forward to. After the sleigh ride and pictures with the horses with Jimmy we went to the tent for hot coco. No employee was at the table so my husband started to poor cups of hot coco for our kids. Another guest in front of us did the same. An older woman who worked there came up to my husband and with a rude tone and told him this isn’t self service. Ok that’s fine. So she got us cups of coco. Well my toddler son spilt his accidentally. So when we asked for paper towels because their roll was almost empty the same employee told me no. I told Her that I was trying to clean up the mess and she said “I’ll just wash my table cloth later” and dismissed us. So my husband reluctantly asked for another hot coco and she stared at us with scowl and then made it without any words. We said thank you and I asked if she had straws to prevent it from spilling again. She laughed and then said “I’m not a Starbucks”. For a company who promotes welcoming entire families she did not seem to welcome children. In fact she was kind to adults but seemed annoyed with children in the tent completely. I think our tradition will be moved to another company now. My son was already embarrassed for spilling and then he asked why he made the lady mad. Children pickup on things and the vibe after this interaction...
Read moreDisappointing Experience at Icicle Outfitters
I arrived early at Icicle Outfitters for a sleigh ride, but the check-in process felt rushed and disorganized. The "sleigh" turned out to be more of a hay cart on wheels, and despite our early arrival, we were made to wait while they attempted to squeeze more people onboard, leading to a crowded and uncomfortable ride.
The journey through their property was mediocre at best, with little opportunity to appreciate the surroundings or interact with the horses. Disappointingly, the rushed nature of the experience meant no time for photos or even a chance to properly meet the horses. When attempting to take pictures, we were reprimanded and directed into a congested "warming tent."
The overall impression was one of a business solely focused on maximizing profits, disregarding customer satisfaction and basic courtesy. The lack of visibility of the horses during the ride and the poor customer service underscored a rushed and impersonal approach. It felt as though they were more concerned with ushering in the next group than ensuring a pleasant experience for the current customers.
I would caution anyone seeking a relaxed and enjoyable sleigh ride experience to consider alternatives to Icicle Outfitters, as this establishment falls short in providing a satisfactory and...
