Quaint vacay & party town in Central Washington. Activities include boating, jetski, water-skiing, parasailing, hiking, camping, swimming, bbq, a few different lakeside beaches, grassy knolls perfect for picnics, a skate park, basketball court, one or two nicer restaurants, and lots of bars & pubs.
There's a Safeway, a Starbucks, and a Senor Frog's. So that gives you some idea of the vibe. Shout out to Adante's, an intimate little Italian restaurant I like. Enjoy limited boutique shopping on Main Street.
I prefer AirBNB style accommodations here, and there are a few resorts to choose from. I stayed at Chelan Resort Suites and would stay w/them again. It gets pretty busy June-Sept though, and reservations are recommended 3-6 mos in advance.
If you drive a camper or RV you'll wanna reserve a spot for it. I have seen people post up on the shoulder of the road, but I wouldn't bet on it. Hook-ups are available at the lakeside RV park.
The city is so small you can drive through it in 10 mins. Takes about 3 hrs to drive in from the Seattle area. Most of the parking is free. Don't forget your sunscreen...

Read moreLove this place! Even with the smoke from wildfires, it was still beautiful. The water is not too cold and it is very clear. We rented a boat and jet skis as well as a vaca home that was on the water. It was all well worth it. Plan to spend at least a few days or you will regret it. The lake is big enough for plenty of boaters and swimmer alike. The beaches are rocky, small pebbles made of granite and other stuff (don’t know what). It’s a peaceful place with several different swimming “beaches.” Definitely worth a...
