Let me preface that I know this is a franchise and that each location is run by someone different. I took my VERY active dogs to a Camp Bow Wow in Colorado for almost three years. They would go for boarding or just day care. We moved to Missouri and were going to Kansas City for a weekend, so I called Camp Bow Wow because I knew the name and had such a great experience with the one in Colorado. This Camp Bow Wow should not even be called a Camp Bow Wow. I called and let them know my dogs had been to a camp before and they stated they needed to be interviewed no matter what. I said ok, but we live four hours away and I was not going to drive four hours for my dogs to interview at a doggie daycare. Apparently they felt it was ok to bend the rules for my dogs and interview them the same day and do an interview on Friday, because apparently they don't interview on Fridays. Well, we bring our dogs in, fill out the application, provide the shot records and my very active dogs head in. We waited around for about 10 minutes and they were doing just fine. When the 3 hour interview (unnecessarily long) was over they called us stating that our dogs were anxious, getting in tussles with other dogs, protecting the human in the play area etc. we found it VERY strange that it would warrant us to go pick them up. I turn on the doggie cameras to see where my dogs were and if they were playing and they were isolated (which was fine) but I looked in the big dog play area and they were all laying down. I am sorry, but when I would look at the cameras at the CO Camp Bow Wow the dogs played ALL DAY! No wonder they couldn't handle our dogs, they wanted to play. We luckily found another place to take our dogs so we could continue to spend our weekend in Kansas City, but when we picked our dogs up, they were visibly upset. I don't think I have seen my dogs so upset before! This was ABSURD. I would not take my dog there, even if you think it would be a good place to go. My dogs were there for about 4-5 hours and they hated it. The other place we took them said they did GREAT with the other dogs. I was so...
Read moreI just have to say how much I absolutely LOVE Camp Bow Wow Lee’s Summit. I have been emergency babysitting a sweet little pup named Georgia, and about 2 weeks ago the pipes in my old apartment home burst leaving my bathroom completely flooded. Georgia has been to Camp BW before, but I was still nervous to leave her there due to growing very much in love with her. But let me tell you, all that worry was for nothing. The moment I walked into the lobby, the employees knew exactly who Georgia was, and were genuinely excited to see her and have her back. Throughout her stay, I would check on her daily on the live web cams (which I absolutely love that they have this available to dog owners). When I went to pick her up, she was nice and clean from the bath they had just given her. The employees could not stop raving about how much they love Georgia and how they are always sooo excited to see her and have her stay. I think what really showed me that Camp Bow Wow LS goes above and beyond was that they had mentioned next time she comes for a stay, they would up her food intake a little due to her losing a little bit of weight. But that was because she was a lot more active at camp with all her doggie friends, and she just needed a little bit more calories to substitute the extreme amount of activity she was getting during her stay. It was not a lot of weight she lost, and all I will have to do is increase her kibble a little bit the next couple days. I could not say enough good things about Camp Bow Wow Lee’s Summit and would recommend them to anyone looking to board their animals or needing doggie day...
Read moreI called this facility in Lee’s Summit on Monday to arrange for doggie day care during a visit the upcoming weekend. I explained that we were driving in from out of town the day that day care was needed so was unable to do interview in advance. The person I spoke with told me since it was just a brief stay, they would just make sure my dog was ok with other dogs and I would not have to do the formal interview. I made a reservation. Upon our arrival yesterday we were greeted by a young girl that obviously was severely lacking in customer service skills. She told us we did not have a reservation and that we must have called a different day care facility. I insisted I knew where I called. She vehemently denied that I had called Camp Bow Wow, pretty much accusing me of lying. I pulled up my call history to prove to her that I had called. She then told me she could not and would not help us and to take him somewhere else. I explained we did not have time to drive anywhere else. She was unapologetic and rude. After this terrible encounter, I would NEVER consider leaving my dog with a company that operates in this manner! If they cannot even deal with customers in a proper manner, then I certainly would question their ability to treat my dog in a loving and caring way. There are plenty of other businesses here and I would recommend anyone find a place other than...
