I booked a party for my son's 11th birthday. We booked an elite party on a Saturday morning in May. For $299 plus tax, I was promised a hassle free party including jump time, a private party room with set up and clean up, pizza and drinks. The current special for $100 credit to use for upgrades was a nice bonus. I picked the 30 minutes of private court ($50), Dippin Dots ($35), T shirt ($10) foam block ($5) and added on some wings ($15). I ended up paying for the wings due to running out of credit, but I love wings so, no brainer!
Upon arrival, check in was very busy. As a large church group had a party booked at the same time, I didn't mind the wait. Once everyone was checked in and given the dos and donts speech, they were set free. To my surprise there was no structure and this was more of a free for all.
Our 90 minutes of jump time was scheduled from 1130-1. At 12:10 we still had not been called for our 30 min private court. I went to inquire and was told they could do 12:30. There was some confusion with the church group and their court time but we agreed to share until 12:45. Still no hide or hair from our party host, I managed to sort everything out myself. I looked over and noticed our party cart was still sitting near check-in with our party room time fast approaching. I went to the check-in desk and was assured everything would be taken care of but even at 12:50 no one could tell me where my party room was. Eventually someone found a place for us and I ended up carrying half of my stuff myself with Jayla helping as I rounded up the kids.
Jayla said my party host never showed up and she was going to take over (they JUST found out and pulled her from her break). When we walked into our "private party room" I was displeased to find it wasn't a room at all. 4 picnic tables in a common area where Jayla had to tell people to leave. I managed to set my own table and serve the majority of our pizza and drinks while having to ask for refills multiple times. I also asked to make sure the pizza was allergy friendly, and after waiting for 10 minutes, had to find a manager to get my question answered. The pizza got cold in the meantime. My wings weren't even served until 15 minutes before we were supposed to leave. They were OK reheated, probably better fresh. In the rush of trying to get everything set up, kids fed, cupcakes served, people leaving early because things were taking so long..... We never even sang Happy Birthday to my son.
Part of my credit was for the Dippin Dots which was a solid freezer burnt rock and I was given half of the flavors I asked for. The T shirt given was way to small for my son and it took two attempts for them to bring me an adult large. Just before packing up, the foam block arrived signed by EMPLOYEES with barely any room for friends to sign and I was never even provided a marker.
To top everything off, as I was cleaning up my own party, another party was being brought in and they started setting their stuff with ours, mixing up our presents. Once I sorted everything out, Overton came to inform me there's nothing he can do for me except provide me with the email to HIS manager, Drake, thus leaving me to do all of the work once again.
The very next day I sent a thorough email as directed and got a follow up call on Monday. The manager asked what issues I had, which are the exact same as I posted about, which I had already emailed him. He sounded surprised like he hadn't even read my email at all.
It's been over two weeks and I've still not received ANY resolution because he had to get his manager involved. I feel like they're trying to sweep me under the rug and hope I forget.
For the price I paid I feel I was NOT provided with the service I was promised. There seemed to be only clueless teenagers working and no one could answer any of my questions. I feel like I paid a large amount just to be able to bring in balloons and cupcakes (which we're tipped on the trip upstairs. Icing everywhere). To say the least, this was the farthest thing from the "best...
Read moreI recently had a Table Party for my child at Skyzone in Lee summit. Setting up the party online was easy. There was an issue with my documentation. The wrong date was placed on my contract. I called to have this corrected. The woman on the phone was very nice. She resolved my issue quickly. On the day of the party. Staff was not the friendliest but they helped me get checked in for my table party. All of the children were given their socks to jump upon confirmation of a signed waiver. The young woman who helped me wasn’t aware I paid for a table party. She asked me if I needed to complete payment. I let her know I paid in full online. I asked if she could see that on her side. She said she could. We sat at the front awaiting for our table. The children were allowed to jump about 5-8 minutes earlier than scheduled. I appreciated that. We had quite a bit of belongings. I saw carts that I assumed was used for other parties. I asked if I could use one for my party. The young lady at the desk said yes and wrote my child’s name down. When the time came for us to get a table. I was shocked no one had spoken to me about my table. I walked up to the front desk again. I asked the young lady about my party table. She questioned me about if I had purchased a party table. I told her that I did. She directed me to another desk off to the side. I spoke back with the other lady who gave me the cart. She said, table parties don’t come with a host. I would have to get my pizza and drinks from the concession. She offered to help me. I appreciated that as well. FYI: if you’re booking a table party be sure to ask many questions. Be prepared to DIY the set up of the table. They have plenty of napkins, plates, cups, hand sanitizer, ect. Bring your own decorations if you have them. We did not have a table cloth. Be sure to bring one.
Lastly, I was mostly disappointed to hear that the bounce houses were dirty. Customer service at the the concession stand is lacking. When it was my turn to order the staff just looked at me. No greeting or anything. I wanted a pretzel. The lady told me they didn’t have cheese for the pretzel and that the pretzels had been in the case for a long time. I appreciated her honesty. However, a concession stand should always be stocked and have fresh items for sale. When I went downstairs for a refill at the concession stand no one greeted me or asked me what I needed. The guy was about to take my pitchers and put them away and then he asked if I was done with them. I told him, “no sir I would like a refill.” It’s important to always greet a customer and ask them what they need. That way communication is clear between you all. The customer will feel acknowledged. I think it’s absolutely rude to stand there and wait for the customer to start speaking. A greeting should be automatically given.
My child loves Skyzone because he loves to jump around. I however am not a huge fan of how business is ran. This was our second time booking a party with them at this location. I spent more money for a room last time and it seems as though the treatment was a little...
Read moreWe've had 2 parties here in the last 6 months and while the first experience was lackluster, we tried again due to its convenient location. Unfortunately, we probably won't be back at all. First party was booked online and I quickly received a call from a corporate employee asking if I had questions. I didn't yet. A week later when I did have questions I couldn't get anyone from this location to pick up the phone or respond to texts tho they provide a number to text. Once we arrived, the party check in table was understaffed and the several employees standing at the regular check in said they couldn't help with party check in though they were doing nothing. For our party space on the balcony, we had to clean the tables ourselves, set up, use a heap of plates and Napkins left on a counter in the area. I talked to an employee at the snackbar about our pizzas and drinks, and he was helpful though he seemed like he didn't know who was supposed to be preparing these things for us. The trash can in the party area was full when we got there and overflowing as we tried to clean up after ourselves. My aunt and niece had to wait over 20 minutes to get checked in for the party. It was all messy nonsense. And that was the good party. Even though the provided socks were unusable for being caked in the deteriorating foam, we left thinking maybe it was a fluke. An understaffed, undertrained, undersupervised day. But it wasn't.
The next party we even paid for the more expensive package for more people to jump and have a party host and our space set up for us. First, same problem with no one being available to check us in even tho we were there very early to make sure everything was ready. The space was not clean or set up, and our party host was just a young employee standing in the corner of our party room for the duration to make sure we left at the end of our time. All this was not worth the money we paid, but that's not the main problem. Some teenagers were causing trouble throughout the facility the entire time we were there even injuring a 9 year old member of our party. We reported the kids to staff who didn't do anything. These kids continued to be rude, push people, and were reported by several other adults and children to staff but were never addressed or removed by staff and were still there when we left. Attendees being a danger to others is absolutely unacceptable.
I hope the ownership here can put more effort into training employees, providing the advertised services paid for, and provide adequate supervision to ensure safety.
Generally get this place together so it doesn't collapse in on itself. The Overland Park location has provided much better service, setting up for the party and hosts actually doing something other than surveillance...
