My dog drives my park game, and we were both pleased with this outdoor playground. Not only is it a very short drive for us (not exactly close enough to walk), but you can see the gorgeous mountain range, you're close to the lake, there are little water reservoirs (?) to stroll around, and these soccer fields are giant!!! Parking is plentiful and easy-peasy.
Luckily there weren't any soccer teams playing on the soccer field we posted up at, so we were able to take up a lot of space. I liked how there were some hilly parts on the side of the field that gives my dog some more interesting sprints. The grass was nice and fluffy, so I laid down for a bit and watched the clouds go by. Lovely breeze and people-watchin'.
FYI - this is where the paved Jordan River Parkway (trail) starts/ends. I hit a dead end when I biked here without the pup. Go West, and I promise there is plenty of paved road with beautiful views to keep you goin (I believe it goes for 40+miles!!) You follow the river and can look at the mountains while passing the plentiful trampolines in people's backyards. This will be a summer fave for me...
Read moreMy kiddos love this park for riding their scooters, a picnic, or passing around a soccer on the fields. They also love throwing rocks in the pond (the less gross side). Just a bit of warning though-please heed the sign not to enter the water, especially on the algae filled side. My kiddo thought it would be hilarious (toddlers) to let his scooter glide into the pond and so I had to go get it. I had no way to retrieve it besides going in there and getting it, so I got in there half calf deep real quick and got it out and tried to touch as little water as I could. I went straight to my car, washed myself down with sanitizer and wipes and everything I had, and I also showered thoroughly the minute I got home. Even with all that, I still got pretty sick from exposure. I called poison control and they said it would just pass, which it did by the next day, but please heed the warning sign, especially...
Read moreThis was the perfect Sunday picnic place for all aged members of my family young and old. My elder family members could walk around on the paved trail, my younger family members loved to explore alongside the trail amongst the trees that make paths and archways with their branches. Super super bonus is the somewhat short dirt trail, that is also flat, that leads amongst many different types of beautiful grasses and flowers to the north point of Utah lake. Many different kinds of birds are in this area, and as you get closer to the lake it turns into a wetland with many types of wetland plants. The edge of the lake is a somewhat hard clay mud so you can walk on it, just carefully. It’s beautiful, and on a windy day the lake looks and sounds like a beach with it’s waves. My dog loved...
