We have been looking forward to going here for some time, but it was a massive let down.
First issue is virtually the entire park is sugar sand. If you don't have a powerful side-by-side or experience navigating sugar sand on a dirt bike, you're toast. I am good on it, and the rental KLX 140 was just about right to traverse it. However, my son is a newer rider on a larger Stark Varg, and he couldn't handle it. My wife was in our 150 cc buggy, and the sand was so bad it bogged down and overheated the transmission, leaving it out of commission the entire 3 hours we were there.
My wife told my son and I to enjoy the last few hours at the motocross park since the buggy was dead. It was about 3:00 pm. We ride up to the MX park, only to find it closed at 2pm for an event the next day. There was no mention of this on their site. I would have just gone elsewhere if I knew this cause it was an afternoon trip to give us time to load up the trailer.
So basically, I spent 3 hours and about $400 (including trailer, admission, bike rental with a burned up clutch, and gas) going through the long rental process at Forrest Motorsports, finding a parking place, and pushing the buggy.
the admission prices are also insane for the limited riding areas. i want to give this place another opportunity, but I think I will just stick with the others in the area.
You're either an open recreation park or a motocross track with events. Pick one, not both. And for goodness sakes, build a non-MX track with normal dirt so smaller buggies have a place to ride where they can go...
Read moreWe have been coming to Lazy for two years. I never took the opportunity to rate. Simply because I'm LAZY.lol.but while browsing for events decided to rate it. What a great ppace to go with Family. My young boys 4 and 5 are ar w super safe riders .. they learned there. Therea is a small kiddie track near the motocross track. Great place to teach your kids the importance of having good clean (dirty)fun. Safety is important also. My 5 year old rides as good as he does thanks to the rules at Lazy. Most places wont allow young children to ride on their own. He rides from 70 two stroke to a 600 sportsman. And very well i must add. I owe Lazy a big THANKS for a allowing me a spot to teach my kids what I love . The lack of shade is not great and some real bathrooms would be awesome but does not change my outlook on this place. I will always go there and have a blast. I drive with 6 quads on a trailer 2.5 hrs to do a day of riding there. Bring a shelter, food, drinks. Sometimes there is a lady that cooks ribs and chicken near the front gate. Its super delicious. And sometimes a food truck comes in. Regardless its always a fun dayv there. Specially when there's mud...
Read moreSo for my first visit I did enjoy myself. Went here to climb some hills , sit by the lake, and see if I want to even bring the SxS there.
The obvious... for living on a flat ass sand bar, such as the state of Florida lol, it's nice to have some fair size hills to climb and keep the 4x4 blood flow going and help pull people out that get stuck or who are not experienced. Stupid or not lol, I don't mind helping them out.
The down side.... it is is a limited amount of space, but again like that it's there Next, people seem to think it's ok for their dogs to drop a deuce in the lake. Yup, no big deal to some people. Preferably, I prefer not to swim in dog feces/waste. Also, not the most ideal place to bring my jetski due to the limited amount of space and how close you can come to people who are swimming... In the dog waste .
I will return once or twice a year, but probably won't swim lol.
The ladies at the gate as you enter the park were very respectable and helpful, as I had questions being it was my...
