Comprehensive Review: Gouldsboro State Park is adjacent to Tobyhanna State Park. It is a more rustic park than Tobyhanna. It has no running water bathrooms and no camping. The lake water quality tends to be lower than at Tobyhanna. What I do like is the picnic table grove near the lake. If you get too much sun, you can sit under the nearby trees. In the lot 4 area there's also a boat launch, boat mooring, a boat rental concession, and a new handicap fishing pier. Hike the 3.2 mile Frank Gantz Trail from lot 4 into the Black Bear Swamp where it will connect to the Lakeside Trail in Tobyhanna State Park. The Old Entrance Trail goes north and south from the parking lots. If you go south, you can connect to the multi-use 3.8 mile Old 611 Trail which will require you to do a return trip as there are no parking lots at its end. Other park activities include a playground, mountain biking, fishing, seasonal hunting, ice skating, and cross-country skiing. For more information: pa parks and forests See the you tube video at...
Read moreA place of unprecedented beauty for those who appreciate and respect mother nature, it is very clean and we would appreciate it if it stays that way. The rangers are very polite and just all around good people. It's a ok place to kayak, a bear jumped in 20 yards from me and swam the entire lake, I paddled with him as close as I could with out disturbing him. It was such a majestic experience of raw nature. The fishing is really good to just please practice catch and release and try to use barbless hooks if you can . If you can not safely retrieve your hook just cut the line and the fish will get it out on its own but barbless hooks make that process alot easier for the fish and they don't do as much damage. Never forget when something in nature is beautiful and clean it's because the generations before you left it that way, allow the kids of the future the same courtesy, nobody likes litter, we must love and respect the EARTH , she is...
