I've done all the trails and they're wonderful (though Tumbling Waters is definitely more challenging than one would expect, haha). I recently did a night hike and it was SO MUCH FUN. Our group was very small and by the end of it, it was just the tour guide and me, which I actually kind of preferred (reminded me of just walking around nature with random friends throughout the years).

It was educational and fun and even though we didn't see much because the night was chillier, we heard a lot of bullfrogs and some interesting chirps and the trees creaking eerily in the winds. Definitely be careful when hiking here because there are lots of roots due to the bedrock being right below the soil.

I want to do more guided hikes here so looking forward to that!

Also, definitely check out the neat displays inside the center, too! Lots of skulls and taxidermied animals and also a giant life-size beaver lodge that you can crawl into as well as a life-size eagle nest! Lots of neat animals to look at it and learn about. I always loving...

This place is both beautiful and Old School Cool! As a kid of the 80s I fondly remember visits to Environmental centers chock full of static displays, info graphics, maps focused on education. This place does not disappoint in that respect. We hiked the Tumbling Waters trail, marked orange and about 3 miles. All said and done it was about 4 miles including visiting the falls and walking around the center. The falls were beautiful and well worth the hike to get there. Also of special note were the trail maps, with points of interest labeled and marked on trees which tell you the history of the area. Being a new part time resident of the Poconos I found the info very educational about the general area, flora, etc. I’ll definitely recommend this to all I visitors as a great place to...

PEEC was so much fun! We went as a school trip enjoyed your trip. The Yurt it's very very nice and cozy. And the people at PEEC were very kind and helpful to us. The hikes were very challenging but they were a lot of fun too. I would really like to come back one day. The staff is amazing and very kind . They were also very organized with dinner lunch and breakfast the food was absolutely amazing. I loved canoeing that was also another fun thing to do. There were so many options . Peak was very organized and make sure we put everything where it was supposed to go plate switch plates cups and cups and compost where it is supposed to go. It taught me to be more dinner and I like saying the recyclable plastic. Thank you Carrean and Alexa for helping us on our hike we had...

We saw the PEEC in multiple searches for the outdoor activities we wanted for a Poconos vacation. We had a packed schedule but managed to get there for a hike and paddle event. We hiked the fossil trail. If that's a mile, that is a tough mile. But, it had great hills and lots of exposed roch faces that contained fossils. Luckily we had just purchased spiked hiking sticks at the country junction and put them to use getting up and down those hills. There are many trails there and I wish we had left more time. Next trip up, we will. We also did a program and were able to paddle around a pond with canoes and kayaks. My kids never used kayaks before but were given a short lesson. Now my kids want kayaks...
