Northwest District Park — Attraction in Leland

I love the mats at this park for the play ground they feel so forgiving when the kids fall, very safe and well lighted. my only complant I have is there r no football fields no goalposts nothing, but there's what 5 maybe 6 soccer fields, 4 or 5 baseball fields but no football there for a pop Warner team that is sending teams to the playoffs for the kids superbowl can't have a home field to help them raise money by having a way to generate income to pay for it and equipment and to practice kicking the ball for field goals. I think we as a community can do better for the kids and this has been a issue for atleast 5 years that I know of so can we get some help Brunswick county parks and rec. My son loves coming to this park. It has so much to do at the playground area alone. Then there are soccer fields and a couple basketball courts that are joined together. However, they need at least 1 if not 2 more picnic pavilions next to the playground. The pavilion that is next to it now it forever booked for parties. So, the rest of us, who aren't there for a party have to either sit in our cars, or sit on a bench in the sunlight. Some of us don't do well in constant direct sunlight. For example, I have very fair skin and can get a really bad sunburn if I am in direct sunlight for to long. Once they fix this, I will move it back up to a 5 star. Otherwise, it will...

I absolutely love this park. It has something for everyone and plenty of parking. There is a paved walking path, tennis courts, soccer fields, basketball courts, baseball/softball fields, covered picnic areas, playground equipment, accessible swings, bathrooms, open grassy areas, and a recycling center. Not only does it have wonderful accessible physical features it's a wonderful place to safely play Pokemon go. There are multiple gyms and stops and the area is set up on a loop so it's an awesome spot to hatch eggs. The bathrooms have always been well kept every visit I've made.
