Great Miami River Trail -Trenton Parking Lot — Attraction in Lemon Township

The Great Miami River Trail, starting from the Trenton parking lot, is an excellent choice for cyclists looking for both scenery and serenity. The trail follows the Great Miami River for many miles, offering continuous views of the water and a peaceful backdrop of trees and open landscapes. During my ride, I was impressed by how uncrowded the path was, making it easy to enjoy a steady, uninterrupted pace. The surface is mostly smooth and well-maintained, suitable for riders of all skill levels, from casual cyclists to those logging longer miles.

Unfortunately, the path is not suited for any type of road bicycle in its current state. There are large cracks (2-3 inches in width) across the path every 50 feet that haven’t been properly repaired. I assume these were cut to be expansion joints or potentially have always been there from when the path was poured. The path is nearly unusable for most bikes. By foot or potentially with a mountain bike I’m sure it’s great.

I was looking for a decent spot to park and ride my bike so this spot was a nice find as it had a decent amount of parking and not too busy on a Saturday. I took the trail north from here and it was mostly flat which made for a easy paced ride. It does get a bit hot since there was not too tree cover but being right by the river there was a good breeze going. This breeze did effect the power needed on the way back 😅 but all in all a...
