We will have to return another day, it seemed closed, but parking lot was open. My review is on the experience we had in the winter.
We went to the grounds to explore and have a beautiful hike in the snow. I have heard wonderful things about the grounds; that it’s a hidden gem. I hope to one day return when it’s spring or summer and truly experience what the preserve has to offer.
I do, however, wish the parking lot was closed if the trails and center are both closed. This would offer people a better understanding to not enter. We parked, walked around hoping to walk the trails and felt as if we were violating many rules due to the signage that is placed everywhere. Many signs to read with instructions. We did not walk the trails or go inside any structures, for they were closed. We went to other preserves on the same day to get nature photography shots and felt more welcomed to enjoy the wintry aspect of nature.
