It's a rather large area but I like to go to "The Radio Control Club of Detroit" it's a designated area where the club members fly remote control planes and drones and such. It's a good 300 yards long and maybe a 100 yards wide and they keep it mowed. It is an absolutely brilliant place to let your dog run. I do come across other people that like to do the same and hunters and hikers but I have never had an issue. Across the road is a lake and swampy area where there are a lot of wetland wildlife. It's really quite beautiful and a great place to meditate and commune with nature. Also, if you look north you can walk on paths all the way up to the next parking area. It's a cool little hike.

Nice wide, soft paths, little to no elevation around the marshes, pretty boring overall, but super easy. However, the only route to the second loop/half, just beyond marker #5 is impassable right now without waders or a disregard for knee-deep mud. Turned a potential 5+ mile walk into <2, oh well.

Not much to see here. The vegatation is all the same. The fall color was not great when we went. The path is nicely groomed and it is very quiet. I prefer to walk in the woods, this is very open trails.

Used to love coming here. Now whomever maintains it is out of control. Mowing everything in sight and not cleaning up any of it. Half-cut trees and branches all over the paths, and my dogs' paws have now been split open from all the debris.. also, just a fyi, the kennel club comes here with a 100+ people and dogs and occupies the ENTIRE rec area for the weekend, every other weekend..Pretty inconsiderate since they give zero notice that they are taking over the rec area for the weekend...making my 45 min roundtrip drive a waste of time and money, not to mention my dog gets excited to walk, but then I have to go find somewhere else. So forget hunting here too with that many ppl leaving their scent everwhere. After the club leaves, they have ruined the trails and paths by driving their trucks all over the rec area and trashing it. Way to...

I don't think this place should really be considered a park, it's more like a Nature Area then anything else. In the fall this is a very popular hunting spot for Duck/Goose season as well as during Deer season. If your a hiker you should proceed with extreme caution and wearing hunters orange during this time. Lots of people bring their dogs here to walk. Very quiet and peaceful location with plenty of trails that all wrap around a bunch of ponds. Great spot to go and get away if you just want to be left alone for a awhile or to view wildlife. I recommend coming at dawn to watch the sunset behind the trees, colors can be amazing if you catch it on the right...
