Told the person at the computer I was there to pick up a DVD that was on hold and was told they were on the shelf. I mentioned I had forgotten to bring my glasses in (it was raining so I was hoping not to have to run back outside and get them). No offer to help. Went to shelf and could not read the words so I went back and asked for help and apologized that I couldn't make out the words. His comment "they made the letters big for that". I was surprised by the comment, but let it go. He handed me the DVD and told me I could self checkout or have it done at the desk. I went and stood in line because I figured he did not want to help me. After a minute or two I noticed him looking my way, he kind of laughed and he motioned like I could have come over to him. He made me feel like I was being stupid so when I walked over to him I just said it had been a long day. He replied "I can tell!" What I would like to say is all I needed was for the person "working" at the library to happily ask if I needed some assistance getting the DVD off of the shelf instead I was made to feel like I was being dumb. Just a kind simple gesture that could have helped someone out! Please, if we all help each other out this world would be a much happier place. I wrote this because being treated like this made me...
Read moreSo this library location is pretty nice view wise with lots of amenities. Up until today at this location i have felt pretty good work and doing my college courses. Today I was approached by a worker with a bad attitude, told I needed to unplug my computer (using ethernet rather than WIFI), due to WIFI being more secure than ethernet. He then removes it from my computer, doesn't ask me to just takes it out. But I am an IT networking major, that's not correct, what he told me was a lie and combined with the attitude it left me a little ticked off. There was definitely a politer way to do what he did. I do not like someone touching my computer without asking, Im not harming anyone nor being rude in anyway. This was not a professional way at all to handle the situation in my opinion.
Update - Revised rating to 4 stars, talked to management about it and it's...
Read moreI really want to enjoy this library, but I can't seem to find a space for myself. There are only a few empty, non-computer tables, so when I want to sit and do some work, I have to limited options. The fun workshops are often during normal work hours, so I can't attend. Now, they've expanded their children's section, which is great in theory, but every time I've gone during the summer, there are children screaming at the top of their lungs and playing. I can hear the screams all the way from the Maryland room. I know libraries in general are shifting from being strictly quiet places to community hubs, but there should be some noise limits for folks who want to focus on reading or work. Wish there was more of a focus on adult services, more specifically...
