Wished the trail had other options for a longer route, but overall a very nice little walk out in nature. Absolutely beautiful flora, and I love how they marked some of the trees so people can learn what types they are. The trail is pretty well maintained, but definitely very buggy (no big surprise since it's surrounded by wetlands) on hot, muggy days - so make sure to spray yourself...

I enjoy walking my dog here. The pathways are mowed or otherwise crushed down grass so it can be very uneven footing with lots of tripfalls, muddy parts, and burrs along the edges, but honestly sometimes that makes for the best adventures! I LIKE that this place is all natural. It is primarily a bird watching reserve after all, and keeping it natural is what's best for...

Warning!!! Do not go on the deck by point 6 with the view of the lake. My daughter went down there and was stung repeatedly by hornets or wasps. There are also tons of mosquitoes, black flies, and flies. Otherwise it is beautiful and we saw two Sandhills cranes on June 27 near the start of trails.

Came to see if we could find sandhill cranes. We did! But they just flew over our heads. Nevertheless this nature sanctuary is a nice place to go for a walk. It’s got prairies, lakes, wetlands and woods. This is probably the best time to visit too as trees have changes into many colors.
