My family and I took an hour and 45 minute bike ride out to Red Cedar Farms for their Strawberry Festival May of 2022. The ride was beautiful! I felt that the staff was friendly and helpful. The tickets for a family of 5 were $60.
My son ran around to the different Jump Houses and took the Helicopter ride provided by their vendor. We went to the petting zoo, which was reasonably priced and had many animals and explanation boards. I was a bit disappointed to learn that the helicopter vendor decided after two hours of us standing in line in the blazing heat and no shade, that they were going to up the price from $20 to $35 for the helicopter ride. I suppose after waiting that long, we were going to deal with it. Maybe next time the Chattanooga vendor can plan their gas prices and costs before setting a price for professionalism.
I was also disappointed to find that there were no strawberries for sale ! That was kind of the main point of us going to the strawberry festival. The strawberry short cakes had maybe 3-5 half slices on strawberries in the thick syrup on top of the cake. It was definitely not worth $10. Maybe next time discount people for getting a very portioned strawberry short cake. š We decided after that, we would just spend the $10-15 at Krogers when we got home and make multiples of our own at home and relive the strawberry desert excitement that we wanted. The drinks and food were all exspensive, but that is usually how a fair or festival goes. The vendors up the prices to make money. There is a little gas station not far away that you can buy waters and snacks at if you need to save the money.
The main shop has such wonderful employees ! It was a husband and wife team. They were SO sweet and informative. That front porch was our best friend for awhile while we got away from the heat. The bands were loud enough to hear. Great job to the bands.
I would say just call ahead and make sure they have plenty of strawberries before you buy your tickets if you are looking forward to this event for strawberries. It was something to do and different, so I don't think it was a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAttended the strawberry festival last Saturday. I think the festival is great for people with kids, but not adults. We paid $18 in advance. And then they were selling tickets at the front for $20. We mainly went to pick strawberries. There were no strawberries to pick and then we found out they had already picked strawberries but they charge you extra for them. The tickets were supposed to include you picking your own strawberries, so you get to take some home. So, when they had already picked them and were charging an extra fee, we felt kind of scammed. The lines were very long to get food, so we decided to eat at a restaurant near by. The band was nice and I liked that they had different vendors with different things they were selling. They did have a petting zoo and inflatables that were included in the price. We brought our baby but if she was a little older to ride a pony or jump on the inflatables then I would say it was worth it, but for just a bunch of adults I don't think it was worth the money and the 1hr and 20 minute drive. It also took us an hour to get in the place, however getting out was fine. I'm giving 2 stars mainly because it's a strawberry festival and the tickets said it includes strawberry picking but there were none and then they tried charging you extra for the strawberries that they had already picked. Also, I was reading some other comments on their Facebook page and noticed that others posted about their experience and not getting any strawberries but then the post disappeared with all the comments and then I noticed on the other posts that comments were turned off. I do think that the event would of been better if they had strawberries to pick and I also heard that they ended up running out of the ones they were trying to sale. I did like their little shop with jams and honey and other things in it. I feel like maybe next year the event might be planned a little better and we might...
Ā Ā Ā Read morebought tickets a month in advance. my step-mother and i were so excited! my only day off is sunday so we went yesterday. drove an hour+ and when we got there it was crazy busy. first thing we noticed was strawberry stands with NO STRAWBERRIES! just people standing under them to get away from the sun. multiple vendors that were selling the same things. we stood in line for a funnel cake for 45 minutes with only 8 people in front of us. ordered the funnel cake and got 5 strawberry quarters which were frozen, not fresh. we left soon after. definitely not what was advertised. not enough food for the amount of people there. the tent with seating was completely full of people just trying to stay out of the sun on their phones. definitely not worth the money and gas spent. lack of strawberry decorations. felt more like a field...
