This nature park is a lot bigger than I remember from my past visit over 10 years ago. I thought I walked most of the property but apparently, I missed some sections because I didn't see the big chair. I wish the online map is bigger and more clear. Anyway, this park is great. Parking/entrance fee is $5, which was indicated online but not anywhere to be found where the deposit box is. Cash Donations also accepted. The box is located at the corner of the parking lot right when you turn right into the parking lot right after you enter the park. This nature park is very educational, and the staff there is do friendly and helpful. I love that it is dogfriendly. I took the trail in the back passed the fairy section and further away from the entrance to the park. The hiking trail was nice and along a little Creek. There is where I spotted 3-4 white tailed deer... So cute!! This is a great place to bring kids. The visitors center was very entertaining... My favorite is the collection...
Read moreI love that private property has been turned into a nature preserve. Such a great idea. Small parking lot, honor system payment box, reusable maps, and a restroom hidden inside a small, old "visitor center". It's not actually a visitor center, as no one greeted us, we searched awhile for the restroom, there's no displays, and just a tiny table with only a couple pamphlets. A few trails around and throughout the property, open fields, butterfly garden, large old trees, wetlands, benches along the way, children's play area. We were a little confused with some of the trails, even with the map, we became turned around. The park is absolutely beautiful. Nice place to escape, breathe in fresh air, listen to the birds and frogs, and just relax. I...
Read moreI see how this is a nice idea but it is not a safe place. I was recommended to take my 3 yr old here and I wouldn't even say it was a safe place for me as an adult. The reason I say this is because it is overgrown, but it looks like someone cut down trees on the little paths but left about 6inch stobs; this is an obvious tripping hazard, which could lead to serious injury in this type of area. It only got worse, as I was taking my son to leave a whole group of preschoolers came to the pretend fossil digging area, which would be enjoyable for kids but they had legitimate metal shovels - this was a definite safety hazard! There was 8-10 four yr olds in about maybe a 10ft radius with metal shovels.. Just something to...
