I came here this afternoon looking for a new park to explore with my dog. Upon arrival, I could tell that this park was huge! There are plenty of green spaces and empty fields to play frisbee, flag football, or volleyball. I drove to the dog park area since the park is strict on having the dogs on leash at all times, so I went there. The dog parks for both small and large dogs are enormous! I have never seen that size of a dog park since I was in Colorado--and that state is known for being pet friendly, so their parks and restaurants are 90% pet-friendly. I took my dog to the small dog park as he is small. It was still 4 P.m. and too hot for my dog. There are not a lot of shades in the small dog area compared to the large dog area. I did not stay that long as my dog did not like being grilled under the sun. I checked out the rest of the park by driving around and noticed a vast playground, a marina (although the water has receded), empty fields, a picnic area, and even a camping area! If I had come later in the day when it was not too hot for my dog, I would have enjoyed my stay here. I have seen plenty of residents around here with their kids, birthday party groups, and groups playing frisbee. I can tell that it is a great park to visit. Cool spot ~

Jacobson Park in Lexington, Kentucky is a hidden gem for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike. The park offers a beautiful, tranquil setting with a large lake and plenty of green spaces for picnics and relaxation. It's a fantastic place for a leisurely stroll, a game of frisbee, or a family day out. The playgrounds and splash pad are perfect for kids, and the well-maintained walking trails are great for a peaceful walk or jog. The park also features a dog park, making it a favorite spot for pet owners. The fishing opportunities on the lake add to the recreational options. While Jacobson Park is a wonderful destination, it can get crowded during weekends and special events, so timing your visit is key for a more peaceful experience. Overall, it's a fantastic place to enjoy the outdoors and connect with nature in the heart of Lexington.

I enjoy taking my submissive friendly dog to the fenced area enclosure for only dogs . HOWEVER, incompetent dog owners will bring an aggressive dog that disrupts the entire positive Karma. Which is concerning My review changed from 4 to 1 star . Yesterday an extremely vicious dog was inside the dog park. . And actually ATTACKED another dog , then proceeded to attack the now dead dogs owner . People continue to bring aggressive dogs into this community dog park . And to top it off my dog and I had just left an hour before . Could have been my dog. . What a horrific thing and my new place is sniff spot app. . I hope people see this

I have had my Childrens Birthday Parties out here numerous times! Its amazing! There is something for everyone here!! Playing with your dog(@the dog park), playing with your kids on the newly remodeled playground, relaxing, having a picnic(there are numerous grills), fishing(with a license of course), paddle board, flying kites. Shelters are rentalble through parks and recreation. You can do just about whatever you want there except drink alcohol. I've been to that park for many ages and stages of my life, my kids lives, my parents lives. Its a great place, beautiful, and you can even find a quiet place to read if you want.....

We are new to the area and this was just a real Gem of a park! We really enjoyed the various jungle gyms and playground areas including the splash pad. The splash pad is not huge but it's very well maintained and clean. There's a lot of nice picnicking areas in the general vicinity of the splash pad there's also a great little bridge where there's tons of waterfowl that you can feed. We did the paddle boats as well. We also observed a really nice basketball court, dog park, disc golf course with lots of participants using the course as we were there. It's just a beautiful park! It's on a beautiful Lake where you can also fish.

Very interesting and gorgeous park! This is one of the best parks in the area with so much to do, and so much space, so that you can have your own little private area to enjoy. They have a very challenging disc golf course that is very fun, but I would say definitely not for beginners since a lot of it is tricky shots through the woods and over creeks and the like. There are pavilions and plenty of picnic areas, a playground, a lake for fishing, volleyball courts and much more! Plenty of parking as well!
