This was originally the Black Widow Speedway Race Track. At the time, the VW Spider was the world's largest spider. Located next to Wilson's VW Parts. The world's largest stock of Volkswagen parts. At least it was before Leroy Wilson past away. See my photos of what the VW Spider originally looked like back in the 80s and 90s. Plus the one of a kind custom built Wolkswagen Opera Limousine (with a W). Yes, I got to drive the Opera Limousine a few times. Who knows where it is now?

There is no business open at this site, merely a spider bug to gaze upon and appreciate. Quick side jaunt off 35 if you are into this sort of thing - which of course you are because who isn’t?!? 4 year old loved it!!

The attraction is technically closed but you can still visit it and take photos. Amazing project! So glad I got to see it. I hope they never remove it.

i have driven past this spider for 22 some odd years. it is the reason for my continued existence and success in life. i have to drive 3 hours to and from work four times a week, but seeing the VW spider bug keeps me going. it is a glorious monument to all that is the good of mankind. It's definitely pretty unique.

We had to park next a random building and wasn't quite sure what this building was.

Maybe it was the time of year we went (July) but there were SO many bugs/mosquitos and they were HUGE. So we didnt really even get very closed to it before we were run off. Obviously not the fault of the attraction, it's outside there's...
