Talon Winery & Vineyards — Attraction in Lexington

Talon Winery was in an excellent option for a wedding venue. We planned our wedding in Lexington, KY this March while living in El Paso, TX. We wanted something simple and fun for our family that would bring everyone together and Talon did a great job of accommodating and working with us step by step to make the day the best it could be. Lauren and the ladies at Talon Winery do an excellent job of explaining various options for how to plan and execute your event. They are very supportive, professional, and respectful and we greatly enjoyed working with them. The Vineyard in Lexington is located well enough outside the city to provide a spectacular event in the rolling hills of Kentucky. The expenses were more reasonable compared to other venues and Talon works with you to help find the best vendors to make things even better. The wine was also fantastic. My friend and I went out here recently to celebrate my 30th birthday and we had a wonderful time! Angie was great! She provided us with amazing hospitality, she was very knowledgeable and gave us a brief history of the house.

I've been coming to Talon for years now and noticed that they recently switched from glass wine tasters to plastic shot glass tasters. If I could make one recommendation, I might suggest throwing in a mini wine glass at the end of the tasting for a souvenir. A lot of wineries do this now and it makes for a nice keep sake item.

One other suggestion I might also add, would be to provide some sort of charcuterie board! Especially when you are there for evening with live music, this would be a great addition to their crackers and dip! Which is already out of this world good....or maybe even a food truck?

I would like to start by saying I’m a talon wine member and I LOVE talon wines. But recently I had a very negative experience. We were there listening to live music so we bought a couple of bottles. Before we left we bought 6 more bottles. The lady checking us out was very friendly. But while she was gathering our bottles to go, she left the tip screen open. She did not ask us about leaving a tip. So we gathered our bottles to go. And I saw her give herself a 10% tip which was equal to 10.71. I was astonished. I asked her about it immediately. She did remove the tip. However, she issued herself a hefty tip without my permission. That is basically stealing. And I really did not appreciate that WHATSOEVER. I would have offered a tip, if asked. We had already left a tip on our previous purchase.
