Lakes Community Church — Attraction in Liberty Lake

It's ironic, we live at Sullivan Rd and Mission Ave, in the Spokane Valley. We had talked about finding a church closer to were we live. Then we went to this church on Idaho Road. Every week we found yet another reason to be amazed by this church. Sure, it has nice contemporary music, yes it has solid Biblical based preaching, yes, the people are warm and friendly; but this church is about acting out your faith. In my experience, most churches fit that old "20% of the people do 80% of the work" rule pretty well. At this church, I'd say at least half of the members are using there time and talents to bless and encourage others. Things like that are seldom spontaneous events. It happens because there is a climate for it that's contagious. I've been there three years now, and I've seen nothing to change my mind. This is that "One church in a hundred." I love Word of Life Church! I started attending about 13 years ago when I was just 19 years old. And I have stayed because Pastor Carl preaches what the Bible says and stays true to the Word! There are also many other positive things about this church... the Worship Music is really great... the people are very friendly and supportive... the small groups offer a great way to get to know each other and study different topics in depth...they have a great hospitality team. This church is very mission oriented... both locally and nationally. From Kenya to India to Ukraine to Blessings Under the Bridge in Spokane, to IChoice in Spokane... they find the time and money to support many different outreach and mission opportunities. Only person who spoke to us newbs was the door greeter. No one seemed care to scoot in to help us get a seat. No one made any attempt to come greet us or get is our our daughter info, etc. I struggle with the Sunday morning concert as opposed to corporate worship. It is so hard to try to sing songs that the worship leader wants to change up as they go or trying to sing songs that are hard to sing. Cannot focus on worship when trying to keep up with the words or pauses. etc. Will not be back. I feel sad to make a...
