10/24/25: Removing the last star since this park is unusable now. A sargent called the day of the incident, the only one who seemed to care. No one bothered to call back since, because park management doesn't care about the plebs. This is for rich people! Rich people get to use the park, as they choose. Not you tax cattle, no way. They don't care that your tax dollars were used, to buy the land, or to maintain it. Rules for THEE, Never for ME! Just make sure not to feed the deer, as they shoot, and kill them! Are you glad you feed the deer, for some rich person to shoot, and eat it? You've been warned. Don't waste your time driving there to find out the park is CLOSED! You can't call to find out either, cause no one picks up, until the nature center is open. Well after the park is opened. If your rich go here, if your a poor pleb, go some where else, or stay home. Your tax dollars are no good for you here! 10/22/25: DO NOT FEED THE DEER HERE!. Scare them away from this place if you see them! They allow some guy to kill the deer here. I had been feeding them corn unknowingly. I had no idea I was helping them get shot! Do not feed them, scare them away. DEER HAVEN NO...., more like Deer Massacre. They have given this guy exclusive dominion over the park. Will the best trail be open today? Who knows! No way to find out either, before you drive there and walk half the park. The soccer people put the sign closed on it all the time. 60 times out of 1 its some moron who did it. Now 1 out of 61 it could be someone who might shoot you! I'm so glad my TAX DOLLARS are paying to UPKEEP things, I CAN'T USE! WHAT? 5/3/25: Woody came out today. As close as he let me get. 4/7/25: Snow bridge picture added UPDATE: 4/5/25 I had the unfortunate displeasure of meeting that dog today that was mentioned in another review. Dog came running up barking and being very mean. The old lady just said ignore it. I had to remind her I will defend myself. I had to move away from it as it kept coming closer to me! The old lady didn't even bother to try, and stop the dog, or tell it to stop barking, or hold it, to stop it from advancing into my personal space. Why are leash laws NOT enforced at this park? It's unfortunate because I have met a lot of good, dog owners at this park too. This BAD APPLE right here is also ruining it for everyone else. I have uploaded the picture of the license plate of the old lady who did this in her white mini van. If you see this vehicle be warned you might have to defend yourself! Another terrible dog owner we have to deal with at this park. UPDATE: 3/21/25 The house owner with the dog has some what been resolved. Enjoy that sunrise walk while it lasts. UPDATE: 3/14/25 had an officer reach out to address the issue. Hopefully it's taken care of now. Still be cautious, but hopefully its been taken care of. It's a great place to walk! UPDATE: 3/13/25 I was just attacked this morning on the trail by a huge orange dog. The new younger park officer, has a great attitude. I even found him walking the trails! Trails are good enough to use a stroller on even though they are dirt and stone. They do have birds in cages. Also the soccer people are making it harder to walk in the mornings, and trash from them gets all over the park (last year). Also noticed more dog poop, and dogs, with out leashes recently. Other reviewers are noticing some of the...

Nice park but over the past 2 yrs they have failed to make sure dogs are on leashes while walking the trail. Every time I visit , at least twice a week, there are loose dogs walking on the trail. Sometimes barking and charging ahead of their owner with no leash. A lot of dog owners that come to this park completely disregard signs telling them that dogs must be on a leash. They apologize and explain how harmless their charging barking dogs are. I have reported this a few times to the park office but they seem disinterested in trying to fix this problem. I feel sorry for people walking with small children because a charging loose dog is not something you expect to see coming around the corner at you and it happens frequently...

This park Is a hidden gem, I've taken my dog there multiple times and he loves taken the dog trail, I do too, it's been really hot and the area is mostly shaded while walking the trail, it's a great place to walk as well. However if your not really sure which way to get out lol for whatever reason that seemed like a challenge we got all the way in there and didn't know which way to go it's kind of like we got in there,? but couldn't figure out how to get out, needs to be more signs on which way to go, no signs nothing listed luckily ran into some people that told me how to get back out to parking lot. Other than that I love nature and if you love the wildlife and animals this is the place to go. I highly recommend...

There are a number of trails here with variety. There are some nice boardwalk areas, prairies/meadows, and just behind the owls an area with lots of trees and creeks. None of the trails are particularly long, but you could spend half a day or so here. There are a lot of bird feeders and you will see plenty of cool looking birds here. The visitor's center is for sure worth checking out as well. This place does get visitors so you won't be here alone like you can be at other hiking areas in Ohio. If you're in Columbus and don't want to go on a long drive or want to do something a little later in the day, this place is a good spot for that. The trails are very well marked as well, and even can be followed on google maps.

Beautiful park. Nice nature center, clean restrooms. Some trails available for pets & some for no pets; it’s win/win for those with and without dogs. Area feels very private and safe. Great fun to view all the frogs by the bridge in the marsh area. My all time favorite spot is the area with the quotes stamped into the stones, uphill from the place where the trail crosses the riverbed. So romantic!
